Eagerly awaiting your Beau thoughts
You doing Beau Is Afraid next?
The cannibals don’t know they’re a metaphor
why would I care where you are on the shoe?
ok wait, but who is “you” in the you are here” in this picture? do people just not understand what “horseshoe theory” is or…?
I don’t even think that person was a Dodgers fan. I suspect it was someone who saw Shohei Otani play exactly one game (or more likely heard about exactly one game Ohtani played) and decided the 2025 Dodgers were “the best team ever assembled”
Did I make that person delete their post?
I feel like no real Dodgers fan would call this year’s team “the best ever assembled”
Just thinking about how well Spiders merch would sell compared to “Guardians” almost makes me angry
for the record, *this* is the skull & crossbones tattoo we wanna see on a candidate:
You also definitely never take your shirt off in public until you’ve covered it up!
Probably also worth noting that they don’t have home field advantage in the World Series because *the Blue Jays have a better record*
They don’t even have home field advantage for the World Series!
ever think about how completely insane it is that the Cleveland baseball team went with “Guardians” over “Spiders” when choosing a new name?
The Dodgers also very much do not have “the best team ever assembled”
Also how can it not make you a little bit romantic about baseball that the five worst postseason run-scoring performances in MLB history are spread across

1905
1963
1966
1990
2025
Overall, only two teams have scored fewer than four runs in best-of-seven (or longer) series: the Philadelphia A’s in the 1905 World Series (3 runs) and the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 1966 World Series (2 runs!!)

(The 1963 Yankees are the only other team to score as few as four in a World Series)
btw, in case this feels like too much schadenfreude, it was driven primarily by remembering how listless the Cubs looked in both the 2015 & 2017 NLCS and wondering if they were *this* bad (the answer is “not quite, but almost!)
all-time World Series low for hits is 17 by those 1966 Dodgers who only managed two runs against the Baltimore Orioles
Looks like 14 hits, however, is an all-time MLB low in a best-of-seven series *and* an all-time LCS low, records formerly held respectively by St Louis Cardinals (16) in their 2019 NLCS loss to the Nationals and the 1982 Atlanta Braves (15) in their best-of-five NLCS loss to the Cardinals
Correct me if I’m wrong (I might be), but by scoring in the 8th inning yesterday the Brewers avoiding setting the record for fewest runs scored in a best-of-seven LCS, instead tying the 1990 Red Sox, who also scored one run in each of their four losses to the Oakland A’s
The 1905 A’s also not only managed to win a game, but won it 3-0, getting shut out in all four of their losses

Two teams have scored fewer runs in an LCS, but both were in pre-1985 best-of-five series: the 1983 White Sox and 1970 Pirates each scored only three runs apiece in those series (the White Sox didn’t even get swept though - they won game 1!)
