My 9yo made this picture.

He asked me to put it on social media ‘so all the grown-ups will see it and will stop climate change’.

I’m so proud of how kind, smart and creative he is.

I’m also heartbroken that he’s scared of where humanity is heading.

Art isn’t a vending machine.

You can’t put a coin in and push a magic button and get a poem.

You wouldn’t call a candy bar a gourmet, Michelin meal.

Art takes time, work, and practice.

It takes mistakes and passion and almost always a few tears.

Make it yourself or bugger off.

If you are reading for awards, I would be touched if you would consider my novelette, "Phantom View." It's one of my most personal stories, about disabled people helping each other, whether they're alive or dead.
Phantom View - Reactor
A disabled son care-taking for a disabled father tries to understand the mysterious blur haunting them.

guidelines like this are a reason I'm so thankful for the Submission Grinder! I can weed out these markets with the click of a checkbox and never even see them!
From a guidelines:
"Please note that there is a minimal $25 reading fee to help cover our costs."

LOL, to "help" cover our costs seems to say it costs that publisher more than $25 in expenses to read a single submitted manuscript? Man, how you reading it? Printing it out on dollar bills?
