Just read an enjoyed this story by Lilia Zhang over on @diabolicalplots.com.

It's a deconstruction of a fairy tale, so right up my alley. About how truly dark some of the stories held up as romance are.

Beautiful visuals.

There is nothing correct about deportations.
Immigration is good, and even if you disagree with that, the way to stop undocumented immigration is by penalize EMPLOYERS who profit by exploiting precarious people. Deportations are not only inhumane, ineffective and wrong.
In @nytopinion.nytimes.com

“The Trump administration was entirely correct to prioritize deportations after the collapse of immigration enforcement under his predecessors,” our columnist Ross Douthat writes, but “misplaced priorities and excessive brutality have created a debacle.”
Opinion | Immigration Enforcement Is Unavoidably Upsetting. But This Is Something Else.
Is this really the only way to enforce the law?

"These agents, and the president who sent them, are no one’s heroes, no one’s saviors—just men with guns who have to hide their faces to shoot a mom in the face, and a nurse in the back."
Last week in Minnesota, I watched ordinary people risk their lives to protect their neighbors. In the process, they not only won a significant—though not final—victory against authoritarianism, they proved virtually every MAGA social theory wrong. (gift link) www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

>>Vance: “If you stop importing millions of foreigners into the country, you allow social cohesion to form naturally.” Vance’s remarks are the antithesis to the neighborism of the Twin Cities, whose people do not share the narcissism of being capable of loving only those who are exactly like them.

If you've got dem senators, today is a great day to call them and tell them THIS shit is not enough. Remember to spell your name, say your city/zip code, and state if you'd like a call back.

But call them. Tell them this is NOT enough. We have momentum. We need to use it, so that they do.
there is no earthly reason to believe that these goons will comply with any new regulations! it’s like if I put a sign on my door ordering the pines not to drop their needles! they’re pines and those needles will drop! zero funding, “reform” my ass, this guy must be stopped
Word is from NBC that instructions from Mr. Schumer to his caucus are: “restrain, reform and restrict ICE.” 1/ www.nbcnews.com/politics/con...

BREAKING Greg Bovino has been removed as Border Patrol "commander at large" and will return to El Centro Calif, where he is expected to retire soon. A stunning turnaround after Pretti killing. Bovino's traveling blue city crackdown is over www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...

Do not let them lull you into compromise.

Getting rid of Bovino isn't enough.
Getting rid of problem agents isn't enough.
Getting rid of ICE isn't enough.

Keep fighting. Lives will continue to depend on it.

ICE murdered Renée Good in broad daylight. Less than 3 weeks later, they killed Alex Pretti, shooting him 10 times. Every day, we watch as people are ripped from their cars, their homes, their lives.

We can't allow ourselves to look away from this cruelty. Abolish ICE.
