I don’t think, at the end of this, that I can forgive the people who voted for him, or even the people who just didn’t vote. If you can, you’re a better person than me and I’m happy to admit it.

The mc in my first (fantasy) book was a 30 single mother. The mc in my next (fantasy) book is a 53 yo Chinese lady.
I didn’t mention my own to her, it felt intrusive.

Maybe, but it’s not what someone asked for. They’re still 27 at the end of the day, and there are plenty of other books which do feature older characters. It’s just standard group behaviour where folks try to fit square pegs into round holes in order to recommend the books they’ve specifically read.

I went into this year’s programme thinking that I am very much not a dark fantasy romance person, but this book blew me away.
It’s so fun and dynamic and incredibly spicy, but also full of anger, trauma, BIG emotions, and fiery social revolution 🔥
