It turns out I have a tickling fetish. Well, that's something to smile about.

Bi cis male in my 50s. Curious.

Been thinking about how everyone looks so hot wearing flannel shirts at this time of year, and how it's nearly advent.....

And trying to work out how to combine the two.

So, how about we post some #AdventFlannel pics over the next 4 Fridays running up to Christmas?

Opportunities to transform nature don’t get much bigger than this!

We have the opportunity to conserve 340 acres (138 hectares) of biodiverse countryside surrounding the Cerne Abbas Giant, Dorset.

Too many members of the House of Lords, who are fundamentally opposed to the Bill, have been trying to time it out. This undermines genuine amendments to improve the Bill. Peers have every right to oppose it, but not to employ disingenuous tactics to stop it.

An easy way to explain luddites:

Textile manufacturers brought in machines that could do in an hour what would have taken 12 hours by hand.

And then, tried to keep paying the now 12x more productive workers the same wages as before.

That's it, that was the problem luddites had. Not complex.

I hope someone draws this wonderful story about Tom Stoppard's Arcadia and the power of the arts to help us see things differently, to the attention of our Education Secretary. Do read it, it will lift your spirits.

Vaccine for smallpox invented in in 1796. Vaccines for TB, diphtheria, scarlet fever, and whooping cough came out between 1921-1926. Polio in 1952, MMR (individually) by 1970.

Observe.
Currently dorking out over this graph about child mortality with my brother. Just mind boggling to take in.

Just remembered the bootleg Peanuts advent calendar from last year and a chill went down my spine. This thread is not for the faint of heart.
I got a Peanuts advent calendar with a little figurine for each day and so far the paint jobs have been… alarming. I think this is supposed to be Rerun but it looks like the ghost of Alfalfa from Little Rascals.

Just imagining how much better it would be if ALL news stories about vaccine-preventable illnesses were illustrated with pictures of people with the disease, not pictures of needle injections. If you must show something that people will find scary & unpleasant, make it the disease, not the cure.
I'm so tired of measles.

I'm also tired of people using needle shots on stories like this.

Show what measles looks like.

Your annual reminder that the most revealing difference between Irish and Scottish Gaelic is definitely in the words for December: Mí na Nollag (Month of Christmas) in Ireland, and An Dubhlachd (the Blackness) in Scotland. So once again may I wish you all a lovely Blackness.

What does Ben Habib mean by "our culture"?

If he accepts Lucy White's vile proposal then he has to accept that British culture cannot be his.

If, as a person born in Pakistan, he is deemed unfit to serve in Parliament then surely he is unfit to take British culture as his own.

Foolish man.
The increasingly ludicrous Ben Habib Is arguing that Lucy White's attack on Nus Ghani being an MP is not racist

Ben Habib is now ludicrously supporting a call to ban Ben Habib from parliament!

Sad news tonight for @ouizzi.bsky.social and I, really sad news.

One of the owners of the club we go to has passed away after a short illness.

A lovely man, who welcomed us with open arms when we took the massive leap to attend a sex club for the first time.

He'll be missed.

Why are you not using ALT text when posting images?

It’s a genuine question - visually-impaired folks rely on screen readers to announce alt text so they can understand an image's meaning and function, and you’re actively excluding them without providing it.
