Really appreciate the justified anger in this piece by @ryanlcooper.com.

The GOP's narrative about trans people "is and always has been a lie. What these people actually have is a seething, obsessive hatred of trans people. They want them either back in the closet or dead."
The Transphobic Mask Is Off - The American Prospect
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene drew up a bill making it a federal felony to provide pediatric transition care of any kind. The ultimate goal is a ban on all trans health care and the end of civil rights ...

Goddess it feels ALMOST soothing to see this on a large publication like TheGuardian.

But I have no faith left. Any sign of hope now just seems like false hope.

Today the sword of Damaclese above every trans person's head lowers just a little bit more. For many that stress will be too much to live with.

Today the children, but they'll come for the adults soon enough too.
The extreme attack on transgender youth we are witnessing from a governmental stage was enabled by The Atlantic and The New York Times.

After going through the configurations menu for Firefox and disabled every bit of AI and LLM feature I could find I find myself thinking: Why the F* do I have to do this? This is why I left Chrome!

Guess I'm switching to @waterfox.net.

Wow. Just...Wow. So I guess my daughter will be losing her health insurance starting January.

Also I guess I'll be eating PB&J's for dinner for a year because I wont be able to afford much else.

As far as I’m concerned, Bluesky is like an online art museum, public park, potluck, sorta thing.

Sure, I’ll occasionally gripe about politics, same as I would with likeminded friends, but if someone showed up to my art gallery wanting to debate, I’d ask them to leave. I’m just not here for that.
"Bluesky is an echo chamber."
"Bluesky doesn't have enough reach"
"Liberals must return to X to challenge the far right"

I'm not a tech bro or a journalist. Your priorities are not my priorities. Stop telling me I need to do anything other than chat about comics & telly with people who seem nice.

jfc is right. Seriously. They would rather see trans people, even children, dead than living happily after transition.
JFC.

North Carolina’s Randolph County chose to dissolve its entire library board rather than allow a book about a trans child to sit on the shelves.

I asked a friend in Texas last month how she could not be terrified. Her answer was to just not think about it because there's nothing she can do. She'll just ignore it like she always has.

Ignoring it doesn't suddenly make it go away. The law doesn't care if you pay attention to politics or not.

Wasn't this a key part of the argument against immunity? That the president could legally order the death of anyone for political gain?

They (SCOTUS, Most of Congress, Executive) want this. No amount of pleading to morals or ethics will get them to reverse course.
December 15, 2025 at 12:08 AM
I hate seeing someone in pain. I hate seeing someone's pleas go unheard. I hate watching injustice being ignored. People often tell me I'm one of the most considerate people they've ever met.

So when I say that if Trump was on fire I wouldn't put it out it's a big statement.
