I was talking to my friend about injustice the other day. He made the point that sometimes people intentionally go out of their way to not understand or remain ignorant. I’m realizing some Americans want to be ignorant of US foreign policy. Many don’t care about anyone but themselves.

there’s a bigger thing to be written about the specific ways in which reactionary centrists have successfully reframed all Black people as both extreme radicals and the elitist bourgeoise undermining freedom with their “wokeness” and “moral clarity”.

She cut her teeth as a public defender in Bowie TX, which is bumfuck rural east Texas on the Arkansas border. Texarkana area.

She knows the state and its people much better than most liberals who might be second guessing her.

same problem Kamala had and why the keep saying she went too far left while she was actually campaigning as Mitt Romney.

Democratic Black women code as “extreme left” to white reactionaries no matter what they say or do.

How incredibly sad it must be to see white people elect bile who see white supremacy as a virtue, instead of a plague."

📌OK, I have heard enough from the grotesque Marjorie Taylor Greene to last four lifetimes.
She's allegedly being burned by a horrific fire SHE helped start.

Exactly. And maybe those things make her unelectable. It's entirely possible! I just find it strange that so many centrist pundits types won't just come right out and say that.

Like, maybe she'd ultimately be a bad candidate for statewide office in Texas? I don't know. But the visceral reaction from centrist pundits requires them to project ideologies onto her that simply aren't there.

One interesting thing about a lot of the discussion I've been seeing from the centrist pundit class about this is that they keep trying to frame Crockett as far-left when she's just... not?

This is huge news not only because it essentially kills the GOP permitting bill before it even gets voted out of the House, without major changes

It also pits these three climate hawks against American Clean Power, a major clean energy trade assc that backed the GOP bill without changes

Like the person of color said, it's white fragility, & your problem, fragile while man, is you can't accept what people of color say to you about racism so you have so spew some justifications that mean nothing to us at us. But you're typical so don't think you're an exception.
I think that's a big component as well.

IMO so many of us internalized "don't get called racist" and the easy path to doing that is to dismiss any racist accusations out of the board, rather than actually reflect on why it might actually be.
