Trump's mechanism to pay the troops during the shutdown is by far the most illegal budgetary action he's taken as POTUS, potentially setting the stage to break everything.

It's also needless because Congress would easily pass a troop pay bill if Johnson were willing to gavel in.

This is a nomenclature I've been persuaded on. CSAM is a bit more awkward but is far more accurate and doesn't confound something that can be consensual for adults into something that is very not consensual and altogether evil.

Next, the opinion in this case uses the term “child pornography.” That is
understandable inasmuch as that is the terminology used in the Virginia statute at issue.
But, that terminology is universally out of favor. And for good reason. That term implies
consent, and pornography is largely legal when it involves consenting adults. Children, of
course, cannot consent to sexual activity or their exploitation, and pornography is
criminalized when children are the subjects. Referring to child sexual abuse material as
