I usually do an hour's work while Hublet is out doing the day's shopping, have breakfast, then get back at it. Today, I thought I'd cleared all my admin before breakfast so that I could dive straight into editing after food. But no, mugged again. At least I'll get some editing done today though!

Please don’t send me a link to your Instagram account in lieu of a proper portfolio site. Your cat/partner/food is cute but I have no idea which sketches/paintings are yours and which ones you just liked enough to add to your album

hey folks, are you an artist who would like to get hired to draw? here's one pro tip to level up your odds instantly!

This morning, I was once again mugged by my inbox, so today’s plans have changed somewhat from editing to proofing and admin

Map proofing then editing today. Hopefully the POD of the next book (convention demo copy) should turn up today as well

As my head currently feels like it’s about to explode, Hublet is taking on the garden pygmies and their lush jungle on my behalf. Don’t want the postie and the Rington’s lad unable to reach the door

I had my flu jab on Friday, so was expecting to feel a bit rough yesterday. No, it decided to wait until today to kick in. Not too badly, just enough to be annoying

This whole thread - some glorious costuming that combines maximum style with, at times, minimal coverage.

Mr Colombia is the first of our LOOK AT MY TITS contestants, but very much not the last. He looks slightly annoyed, but I cannot fault the combination of the maximum amount of skin on show but also the maximum amount of costume.

I didn’t realise that it was bookshop day today. Those two new books just happened to follow me home from Ad Gefrin, honest.

The sky was bright blue and almost cloudless and it was ridiculously warm in the Till Valley while we were there: 18C! The Cheviots were looking particularly magnificent in the sunshine. /end

From there we went up to Milfield and the Maelmin Heritage trail. A bit dilapidated but it’s a small trust running it and they’ve had vandalism problems. The replica wood henge was effectively done, and it was nice to watch the gliders going up from the airfield next door. /2

Really lovely day out up in the Borders. Ad Gefrin was well worth a visit - the building smells amazing, the museum is small but very nicely done, the gift shop has many nice things (incl. books and booze), and the cafe restaurant serves excellent food. /1

Essentially correct. Gods, that is so depressing on so many levels

I used to make myself struggle through things I wasn’t enjoying so I knew what happened. It took a while to break that habit but I don’t regret it

Good luck on getting Phillipson to do anything that doesn’t further her career. She only remembers her constituents exist at election time

Also a reminder to never trust a word out that comes out of Nick Clegg’s mouth. His behaviour while in government is the reason I still can’t bring myself to vote Liberal

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.
