My nephew: Are you a girl or a boy?
Me: a boy, I used to look more like a girl but then I turned into a boy
Nephew: How???
Me: I went to the doctor and they gave me some medicine
Nephew: …
Nephew, bragging now: I’M a boy and I didn’t even HAVE to go to the doctor

I wish cis people would understand just how stressful it is when every time there's news of gun deaths, far right trolls immediately jump to social media and claim the shooter is trans, and sometimes they'll circulate pictures of random trans women they want to incite violence against.

I'd do that 10-year thing everyone is doing, but I transitioned 30 years ago (30 years last week, even!), and I really don't feel all that comfy sharing pre-transition photos to the world.

Still, it's so very cool to see from others!

Don't talk to cops.

Every day is shut the fuck up Friday.

FBI are cops.
MS NOW confirms: The FBI is working with Capitol Police to schedule interviews with the six Democratic lawmakers who urged service members to refuse to comply with illegal orders.

Because of course they do.
1. After the shutdown fight, Republicans promised Democrats a vote on extending enhanced ACA subsidies, which cover 20 million Americans.

Now, new reporting shows that Republican negotiators want to make a trans funding ban a requirement for the extension.

Republicans Privately Pushing Anti-Trans Funding Ban For ACA Subsidy Deal After Shutdown Compromise
The proposal, which was first detailed in the Wall Street Journal, could harm transgender people even in blue states if it becomes part of the negotiated deal.

Note how a 17-year-old trans girl is a “child” who must be protected when it comes to making her own medical decision, but an “activist” who can’t be afforded the basic protections of the law when she is assaulted by a 50-year-old man with a history of harassing trans people.

In the span of a hour, they stealth edited the article from trans woman to "biological male who identifies as a woman." The BBC isn't fit for purpose.
It looks like that BBC page has been updated in the last few minutes, so that's no longer the last sentence. I think part of it has been moved to this paragraph in the middle of the article, and the age is no longer mentioned:

My columns would be dreadful if not for @cynlaird.bsky.social. She has an amazing knack for sorting out what words I meant, versus the ones I typed.
By the way, it's National Editor Appreciation Day.

Nobody ever reads a great article and thinks, "Dang, that was some tight editing." But editing is a big part of how it got to be great.

So writers, if you've ever worked with a good editor, shout 'em out.

BTW, if you're legitimately pissed off at Marvel for the whole "let's make a victim of sexual violence a happy subservient to her abuser" thing, the BEST way to affect change is withholding your money.

So we've had days of discussion about Megyn Kelly excusing Jeffrey Epstein's pedophilia because the children were teens.

Now, Graham Linehan gets off of harassment charges from someone who was 17 at the time he started harassing her, simply because the kid was trans.

Make it make sense.

What to just exist in the world without bigots like this harassing you?

Congratulations, you are now an "activist."
Father Ted co-creator Graham Linehan has been cleared of harassing a transgender activist, but was found guilty of criminal damage to her mobile phone.
