Speaking of good opinions, meant to share this piece on OBAA since it echoes my feelings on how the criticisms about the movie’s “positive” and “negative” portrayals of blackness do a disservice to the Black women who are in and of it. The range of their complexity is what makes it successful, IMO.

To everyone who envisioned and shopped for a giant multicourse meal that they now have to cook and which they should have started yesterday but didn't and maybe just spent an hour doing someone's lice treatment or similar while the minutes ticked by...time to lock in

the invasion of Afghanistan is among the most horrific recent chapters of the long history of elite impunity in the US. this coda is grim but fitting - the govt practically explicitly affirming that it should only be Afghans who live with the consequences amid fading public memory of the atrocity
It didn’t even take 6 hours.

My apple pie is sick and it's because I don't use too much sugar, I sub vodka for most of the ice water in the crust, and I put corn or potato starch in the filling so it doesn't ooze. Not to be intimidating but it once won third place in a pie competition and there were at least ten pies in there

Amani has many unique photos, is friends with Eman whom I’ve shared before and sent me a video with Eman to verify her identity (she unfortunately lost her identification papers when her house was bombed)

Amani has a new fundraiser because she is really struggling to raise her boys on her own

DOGE was created for data theft and infrastructure dismantling and it wildly succeeded on both counts within the first few weeks of its existence. It will take a generation to rebuild what it destroyed and the breach of data is unprecedented.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.
