I’ve just had a bacon roll from the local bakery and I’m ready to face the world, at least for an hour or so.

I’m so sorry I never had a chance to have a pint in here.
Today is the 55th anniversary of the official opening of the silliest pub the world ever saw, the Windsock in Dunstable

My neighbours have just sent me an e-Christmas card. I’m struggling to put it on the mantelpiece.

It’s Second Sunday of the month. Shortly, just off Trafalgar Square, I’ll be running Captain Dan’s laundry for homeless and/or destitute asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants. I’ll probably annoy all the right people

You can’t deny the Icelandic people know how to do Christmas.
Tonight Stúfur, 3rd of Iceland's 13 Yule Lads, comes down from the mountains. He sneaks into houses and eats the crust left on pans after cooking.

All the children put a shoe in the window for him to put a treat or a little gift in - if they have been good that is. The bad children get a potato.

Etsy order made late yesterday and expected Monday turned up sitting near the front door 7.00pm tonight. No idea who delivered it and a delivery email was the only way I knew it was there.

Been subjected to BBQ beef Hula Hoops on an accidental trip to the pub. Do not recommend.

If you want your kids to behave this Christmas, remind them of this.
Please may we culturally appropriate the Icelandic Christmas Cat?

Happy 100th Birthday Dick Van Dyke. It took me years to realise you couldn’t just do this with your trousers without causing deep personal embarrassment. Proper movie magic.

Is Lidl Hatherwood Porter still brewed by Shepherd Neame? It's way better than a £1.29 bottle of beer deserves to be, anyway. Never had it before - I actually bought it because it's only slightly more expensive than an empty 500ml bottle from a homebrew shop. And you get beer in it.
