Boycott Starbucks. Stand with the employees.

I love how when folks are looking for people who are exploiting the system they start with poor mothers who have the audacity to own a cell phone and not with billionaires who have made it their explicit job to get even richer by exploiting other people's labour

The subtext in JD Vance asking for "patience" on the economy: When leaders stop talking about current conditions and jump straight to rosy forecasts, they’re signaling the present isn’t defensible. That’s your cue to scrutinize the numbers, not just the narrative.

This is…brilliant.
In Monrovia, California, protesters are purchasing 17¢ ICE scrapers from Home Depot and immediately returning them to create long lines and slow down the entire store. Their aim is to disrupt sales and convey a message opposing ICE raids occurring in their neighborhood.

Since Ken Burns’ new doc The American Revolution is out now, here’s a little bit of memorabilia. Earlier this year I went to the National Museum of Military vehicles in Dubois, Wy., and among a firearms display is this musket, which is credited as having fired the first shot at Bunker Hill in 1775.

i'd say it did. the public put a group of thieves, vandals and extremists in office last november and they promptly went about destroying everything that might work to limit their ability to loot, steal and inflicting pain on the people they hate
This whole NYT account about the weaponization of DOJ is beyond disturbing. Kinda feels like the US government fell in January.

Personally I don't think it's OK to say "I'm not interested in politics, I just want to live my life", because it means you're asking others to hold the line against people who would destroy you.

Hey so “underage girls” are…children. The word you’re looking for is children. They’re not like, women-in-waiting or women-lite or whatever. They’re children. I think some of you are very uncomfortable with what that means for you but it is still true.

This deal to reopen the government is fucking disgraceful.

Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened.

This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.

The answer Sen, Shaheen is that since America elected the Black man to be president, the official position of the Republican Party is “not to work together with Democrats to address the problems that are facing this country.”
Shaheen: "When I talk to my constituents in New Hampshire, you know what they say to me? They say, 'Why can't you all just work together to address the problems that are facing this country?'"

Anyway a great way to radicalize people is for them to realize that you just abandoned their chance at being able to access and afford health care because you didn’t like waiting in line at the airport.

it is offensive! it means "fatness as illness" and "fat, but only in a bad way."

obese and obesity are slurs.
The word obese comes from Latin obēsus meaning “having eaten yourself fat.” It blames bodies and feels offensive. About 80% of body weight is influenced by genetics. Fat bodies are natural. Let’s ditch stigmatizing medical terms and accept fat people! #BoPo #EndWeightStigma #FatPositive #AntiDiet

Elegant.
