Students may or may not have to accept hearing upsetting things. People in power, on the other hand, have no right to complain about feeling upset at the words of their underlings. They're the problem. They and their demands for deference.

Even without the direct comparison with the overture to "The Abduction", the sudden playful passages in Lawrence reminded me of Mozart.

Genauso. Und dieselben Leute verbreiteten hinterher die Mär, daß es die Schuld des dummen Pöbels gewesen sei. Leider ist diese Perspektive noch immer weit verbreitet, und entlässt die Eliten, die derzeit den Faschismus fördern, auch aus der Verantwortung.

I listened to the full soundtrack just the other day. It is so much at the heart of the project, next to the imagery and narrative. It works as a whole. Dare I say Gesamtkunstwerk? But all good film music is Wagnerian.

What are the influences in that score? Why these references? What story does ...
