The ECHR has ruled against the UK in deportation cases, 13 times in 45 years!! Remember that the next time you hear Herr Farage demand we leave the ECHR
🚨 “Can I tell you how many times in the last 45 years the European Court of Human Rights has ruled against the UK when it comes to deporting people from this country - only 13 times - in 45 years”

Hugely important point made by @vicderbyshire.bsky.social 👏

The reality of the EHCR. Since 2017 the Court received 660 requests for interim measures in UK cases,15 were granted 15, i.e. 2% of requests, average of 2 per year. In 2023, the Court issued only 1 Rule 39 order against the UK, for a person's expulsion to the USA

Turned up expecting to win and got what we deserved from a poor Plymouth side. Suspect we won’t see Fink again and Taylor played like he’d never seen a ball before. Looking more like a relegation battle than fight for play off place #wycombewanderers

this is insane
New Home Office impact assessment finds that cutting skilled and social care visas will cost the UK up to £10 billion with a central estimate of -£5.4 billion.

It would be good if this got even a fraction of the coverage devoted to the endless debate about boats, flags and Turkish barber shops

Imagine the reaction to allegations that Corbyn had made hissing gas noises to Jewish kids as a schoolboy - and then if he had responded to those allegations by shouting 'Bernard Manning!' at the journalists
The radio silence about Farage from people who are usually supremely vocal about antisemitism is so so telling.

Still reeling from the Stanford report on Brexit. Reduced GDP by up to 8% and investment by as much as 18%. The UK Treasury would have £40 billion more each year if Britain had remained in the EU. Devastating self-immolation.

Rachel Reeves says there’s a “hole” in the public finances. A new decade-long Brexit study explains it: a 6–8% hit to GDP – that's £180bn-£240bn a year – means less tax, less investment and less money for everything else.

Brexit made Britain poorer. Much poorer.

Musk turned on a feature on X that showed country of origin.

He disabled it a couple hours later when it was revealed how many MAGA accounts aren't in the U.S.

Foreign bot disinformation machines exposed.

Seems like Twitter could have done that feature 15 years ago & we wouldn't be here today.

That was a massive win against a very good #Lincoln side. Two excellent first half goals followed by the typical #Wycombe nervy 2nd half. Lincoln subs made all the difference as did the open goal they missed. 6 points off top and 7 off relegation- it’s a poor League One this year so who knows

Not a peace plan: but a corrupt deal in the tradition of Ribbentrop-Molotov and Yalta.

The definitive piece on this proposal.
This is not a peace plan. It is a proposal that weakens Ukraine and divides America from Europe, preparing the way for a larger war in the future. In the meantime, it benefits unnamed Russian and American investors, at the expense of everyone else.
