"embrace datacenters or face federal intervention"

fucking called it
Former US Sen. Kyrsten Sinema lobbies for data center developer at Chandler AZ Plan Commission. Says she's working "hand in glove" w Trump Admin & warns city to embrace DCs or face federal intervention. City Council vote on Sinema's DC scheduled for Nov. 13.
I mean I'd rather him spend his time focusing on fucking up the White House than pretty much anything else. At least that's relatively straightforward to fix, or just tear down completely, whichever really.
It's also not sustainable if a bunch of them have to work together, which is what we saw more of in the last Trump admin and it's revolving door of staff and hangers on.
It probably produces good results in the sort of affluent schools with high parental engagement where they tend to test these things.

the actual story here, which the media never talks about, is that police in this country have become a discrete right-wing political operation. the story isn't about cops leaving (they're lying about that), it's about the police trying to exert influence over elections.
Lmao is this supposed to be a bad thing?
Yeah, sampling and digital music production has made music way more accessible in the absence of public music programs that teach actual music theory and how to play instruments etc.
This is very much a double edged sword.

guards ignore—but are trained—that withdrawal is a life threatening condition, and ignoring someone in withdrawal is both deliberate and indifferent

the fact that they were *wrong* about this person’s emergency doesn’t make their conduct any less deliberate or indifferent
A lawsuit alleges a Black postal worker died after officers ignored clear signs he was suffering from a massive stroke, believing his medical emergency was drugs

The suit says guards left him helpless on a jail cell floor in his own urine for hours

in 2011, the president of antifa hired me to give fashion consultancy to the organization. i recommended everyone wear navy suits with tan shoes, dress sneakers, and golf polos with slim chinos. if you arrested everyone today wearing these things, you'd destroy antifa

There is the Community of Christ, which an early LDS offshoot that's pretty progressive, but they don't really ID as Mormons, and are pretty small.

The New York Times doesn't tell you why the alleged murderer said he sent pizzas to the victim's house just before he ran down the girl and her best friend. He said on video that he was getting revenge for social media comments about death of Charlie Kirk.

Conservatives love to darkly say stuff like “you aren’t prepared for what’s next, we’re not going to be moderate anymore, you have no idea what you’ve unleashed” and then cry like babies when you call them fascists

I mean, that's kind of been a general problem with her. Taking a gather data and see approach is a great general management concept but it doesn't really work for shit like basic human rights.

underneath all the doom and hideous stuff happening at the top of our country is a more inspiring story: regular Americans are not buying all this crap. and they're still willing to call the government out on it.

Liberalism in general suffers a lot from its practice of mollifying people by telling them that in the future, other people will not experience the hardships they are presently going through unremedied
Same energy as Democrats after Roe was overturned. Telling people who were already pregnant “we’ll codify it after the midterms” as if that was supposed to be a satisfactory answer.

As if Kirk would have willingly debated anyone on his level. The whole shtick of TPUSA was to target college students to generate video clips. Talking to Kirk was a one way ticket to having your face posted online with a slanderous tagline.

Liberals now feeling what it has been like to support Palestine in the US. Every word twisted. Loss of job for a simple opinion. Taken off air for a monologue. Lists to target you. Employers harassed. It feels endless, coming from all directions. It only gets worse from here

a key reason they see an opening for such a blatant speech crackdown is that they already did one to Palestinian and anti-genocide activists and it got enthusiastic bipartisan approval
