one thing i realize i dislike about AI "shots" is how rarely they use any form of perspective (particularly with humans) other than 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock - they're shot so unimaginatively that you get the AI feel right away
McDonald's has released an AI-generated Christmas ad

The studio behind it says they 'hardly slept' for several weeks while writing AI prompts and refining the shots — 'AI didn't make this film. We did'

This is BEAUTIFUL.
But again, if anyone has 1982 or earlier date pennies you'd like to send me now that they're "garbage," please let me know. I will contribute their worth towards the purchase of this marvelous painting. 😘
"American Opera", oil on canvas, 12x12", 2025- regular price $800(Cdn), on sale for $600(Cdn). #art

Walked the pup to the mailbox, and wha-hey I got my @rifftrax.com pins! And folks, they included all manner of free extras. My heart grew three sizes today. 🥰 10 out of 10, will shop impulsively again.
Ok I did it. Again, this is extortion.

This thread is startling and sad, but a very good warning flare.
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

Since we’re hitting the late-in-the-year holidays and we all *hate* listening to commercials, here’s an early present:

@somafm.com has brought back Department Store Christmas…basically Christmas elevator music.

Show SomaFM some love if you dig the channel.

There is also a pair of wonderful communities on reddit, DadForAMinute and MomForAMinute, that are places where people can both ask questions like these things, and also share the joys and sorrows they can't with their parents for whatever reason.
I love this idea. My dad died when I was three and I had to figure out simple things like how to tie a tie and even shave on my own. Please retweet this because I know there are a lot of kids out there who could use some help with day to day life.

This is one of those things I would NEVER make for myself, but I would commit homicide for someone to make for me. So long as I could eat it before I went to prison.

I can say that my sophisticated adulthood as well as my impressionable "childhood" were shaped by Udo Kier movies. He was a force of character for SO many years. We are worse for wear at the loss of him.
Grateful to have grown up watching Udo Kier being creepy as hell in movies.

Well this might be the worst news I've learned today. Tough to say, lotta awful stuff happening this weekend. Dang. variety.com/2025/film/ne...

Also, if you have pennies minted before 1982 and you think they're trash, you can send them to me. They press in these machines WAY better than the zinc-core coins.

Had a dental cleaning today. In the middle of scraping my filthy, appalling teeth my hygienist said "you need to know, you have perfect, beautiful skin." Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to announce that I'm getting married to LouAnn, my hygienist of 20 years. 🥲

In this season of Pete our beloved William Hickey was 3 yrs from meeting the great beyond. This king never stopped working, he probably popped up to do a quick VO from his coffin. Love you, Hickey.

I'm about to be driven out of town: I thought Frankenstein 25 was... ok. Dialogue was tepid, it was astonishingly long, and there were a heckuva lotta lingering shots on Elordi because he's a fine man. I'm not saying he isn't sensuous, I'm just saying, WRAP IT UP, FOLKS.

Listening to Jackey who couldn't even get a copy of her father's own film until she watched MST on Comedy Central. The era before the internet was wild, y'all. #ManosDay @dumb-industries.com

I love that someone asked "What the heck with the Spring thing" about the singular most beloved short in MST history, and Frank is just "companies did this, it isn't even cool or fascinating." @dumb-industries.com
