Good early night my friends.
I took today off work to get some rest, and I am very glad I did.
Love yourself enough to take care of yourself. I love you, and you deserve it.
Be safe, take care, and I'll see you tomorrow.

Atlantans will get what they voted for as their tax $$s get funneled into slush funds while the city continues its collapse
Mayor Andre Dickens’ administration successfully gutted legislation to restrict how the city can spend its Affordable Housing Trust Fund.

“I feel like we’ve moved in the opposite direction of what this was intended to do,” Councilmember Alex Wan said.

Started working on a tiny version of my Gate Crushers series, starting with the flag bearer.

Those epic scale minis are sooooo tiny, a real challenge to paint. Even had to use a magnifier to do my tiniest edge highlights and smallest glazes ever.

Anyway, hope you like that start, more to come ^^

I was recently blocked by someone who, by all accounts, wears their disdain for AI on their sleeve.

Which makes me wonder if they thought I was pro-AI???

Even though I've literally written soatok.blog/2025/05/04/t... before?????

Some of y'all are wild.
Tech Companies Apparently Do Not Understand Why We Dislike AI - Dhole Moments
It’s becoming increasingly apparent that one of the reasons why tech companies are so enthusiastic about shoving AI into every product and service is that they fundamentally do not understand…

This has been a great year for the engine, but there are still a lot of things we would love to do.

If each person visiting our website donated €5, we could hire 5 more developers to work on Godot full-time.

Middle-aged dudes are indeed my primary sales demographic (a fact I am untroubled by, being a middle-aged dude myself), but recent books, particularly Starter Villain, have skewed my readership younger and more genderly-diverse. Behold the power of a cat on the cover!
My kids know that I have your entire collected works and have an autograph from when I met you in person. They have expressed ZERO interest in reading any of your works.

Just imagining how much better it would be if ALL news stories about vaccine-preventable illnesses were illustrated with pictures of people with the disease, not pictures of needle injections. If you must show something that people will find scary & unpleasant, make it the disease, not the cure.
I'm so tired of measles.

I'm also tired of people using needle shots on stories like this.

Honestly no one really knows enough about what I do outside of my area of my industry for this to be a problem.
As a historian it was always "Oh so you study the silk road?" and I had to explain that no, I studied what happened when that fell apart.
What’s the worst question someone can ask after you tell them your profession? For linguists, it’s definitely “how many languages do you speak?”, but I’m curious what else is happening to the rest of y’all out there?!

Pass legislation requiring that no one earning less than $100k a year be audited or pursued for tax debt while corporatons use arcane loopholes to avoid paying any tax at all.
My bipartisan IRS MATH Act with Senator Bill Cassidy is now law.

Now, if you mess up your taxes, the IRS has to tell you where you made a mistake and how to fix it.

No more spending a fortune on lawyers or hours to find errors.

That means fewer headaches and more money in your pocket.

Garcia says she was unaware until recently that funding for TADs diverts funds from public services and schools.
