It's the fault of a lot of educational programs and some consultancies that design is misunderstood as a magic substance. The dominant lore contributes to designers being less well prepared to engage in these environments and see the true limits of their scope of decision-making and influence.

I have long believed that we should be WAY more vocal about how police and ICE constantly murder dogs, and I think this is great messaging actually.

The reality is that you can mobilize a whole lot of usually tuned-out Americans around a “someone is being mean to hecking doggos” cause.

We absolutely kill any interest kids might have in Shakespeare by teaching Romeo and Juliet as their first exposure, because the play is not framed to them as the way early modern audiences would have understood it.
Also, because... its not a great play.
Use one of the histories. Works better.

Most "classics" are boring as fuck to a modern reader in no small part because the context of the story is not understood by them and so many of the allusions and "inside jokes" known to then-contemporary readers have been lost in time and in translation
