When he met someone in a bar one Friday night and swapped social media handles, he asked AI what his next move should be.
ChatGPT discerned that sending an initial message on Monday midmorning would set the right pace. "Then it gave me some options for what the message could be," says Rich.
"Keep it light, warm, and low-stakes so it reads as genuine interest without urgency," the bot advised. "Something like: Hey Sarah, still laughing about [tiny shared moment/reference if you've got one] - good to meet you!" Rich went back and forth with ChatGPT until he felt they'd hit upon exactly the right message ("Hey Sarah, it was lovely to meet you") but sadly she never replied, he says. "It's been two weeks now."

I found out last week after a reset that my <10-year-old soundbar refuses to handshake with a WPA2-PSK network even if it's on 2.4GHz. Had to bump the security back down to WPA1, do the authentication, then bump the security back up again. Worth a try?

I started with a 7-day mute on those terms and when it expired I felt gross so upped it to 30 days, same feeling after the month ended. Whacked them to permanent and haven't looked back and rarely hesitate in adding new terms.

I was feeling this way and then got very acquainted with the filter tools. A whole bunch of politician names, countries currently in conflict, whatever drama is doing the rounds - they're all banished to the shadow realm and bluesky will even query the text of link summaries and nuke those.

In the same post they also make the claim that moisture ingress in old phones was somehow an invented problem from the past, and not that manufacturers now have the technology to waterproof phones.

(also, again, ignores the reality that people like me saw the internal PCB corrosion first-hand)

Please don't fuck around with forwards-from-grandma style hacks when it comes to emergency calling. The Optus outage was horrendous and a complete failure, but there's no One Weird Trick to get your phone connected to Australian emergency services: Just dial 000

This is not true and it's dangerous to spread the claim that 112 has any sort of precedence over 000.

000 and 112 are treated the same by AU operators - both are valid emergency calls - and inherit the same properties when it comes to credit, SIM status, or lack of coverage for your own carrier.

Finally, while 112 is a helpful number to remember when you're abroad in case you don't know the local emergency number but within Australia it adds confusion because 112 does not work on fixed connections.

000 is the Australian standard that all providers are required to implement and test against

Additionally, in the case of the Optus outage, calls to either number would have failed because the failure happened within the host network after the call was connected. The emergency protocol only helps you your call to be connected via any available radio network if your own is unavailable.
