Man, I used to clean stalls in -30 wind chills (wearing coveralls and many layers). Just went out to feed in 31 degrees and light sleet and I about froze my 'nads off. Maybe I've finally acclimated to the Ozarks.

hey w how trad pub is likely going to be pulling back on books by marginalized authors, now more than ever, please get over whatever roadblock exists in your mind that keeps you from branching out to indie books. if the trad space starts to look dire soon (and it will), this is gonna be the solution

Every now & again, it's useful to say why I do all these eel history tweets.
Mostly, it's because eels need our help. They're critically endangered, seeing a c.90% drop in population in the last decades.

Every now & again, it's useful to say why I do all these eel history tweets.

The first baby whale of the 2025-2026 North American right whale calving season was spotted Nov 28 near South Carolina.
Mom is Champagne (ID #3904) and its her 2nd documented calf. What joyful news for a species with 384 whales remaining.

As someone who endured transphobic abuse in a "Psychology of Diversity" class at a Missouri university, the OU story has really hit me hard today. (Also able-bodied profs are asking for more "empirical evidence" that disabled pagans are discriminated against in my thesis, like double fucking whammy)

As I think about Deloria's criticism of anthropology, I wonder if it would also apply to a Dem party that holds institutional and academic knowledge in too high esteem, so that the silos chasing their own tails for answers that validate their behavior are one reason why we are in this position 1/

About done with my paper for this semester. This has been a difficult semester at college, one that has firmly told me that there's no place for me in institutionalized Academia, and that is not my failing, but a failing of the Christian hegemony. But I was introduced to Vine Deloria Jr's works. 1/

With the serials easily scheduled through the new year (one is finished and scheduled through like March, the other is in progress, but I just scheduled Feb's episode) I'm going to spend Dec finishing a holiday novella and then focusing on one of the big to do lists because I have things to do.

Um, apparently not. Throwing in a bonus Celtic Woman concert, and I've watched Once More With Feeling and the Flash musical episode.

Have gone through my direct vendor accounts (B&N, Kobo, Google Play), figured out Apple Books (no longer need a mac computer, woohoo!). Have a spreadsheet made and payment thresholds looked up. Alas, kobo apparently has a $50 payment threshold, but I can at least reduce my Draft2Digital usage.
