🎶 Thunder Boys Playlist 🎶

I'm going to start a thread of songs the kiddo loves to play over and over and over again. He definitely knows what he likes.

This is his current fave -

Looks like it will 'only' cost $600 🙃

(It would have been double that if they took him to the Northern.)
So we paused our private health insurance like two weeks ago because it's been 3 months since my husband was made redundant.

Guess who just had to call an ambulance without having ambulance coverage for the first time in 15+ years?

As it should be.
“Girl Guides Australia’s mission is to empower girls and young women to discover their potential as leaders of their world,” the organisation wrote on Facebook.

“All girls – cisgender and transgender – are welcome at Guides, and we support their personal journeys.” 👏

We really need to get better at identifying this while it's happening.
Remember the burst of posts in October claiming Taylor Swift was a Nazi/trade wife/selling SS merch? It was a bot farm.

AND: Researchers "discovered 'a significant user overlap between accounts pushing the Swift Nazi narrative & those active in a separate astroturf campaign attacking Blake Lively."

Mysterious Skin. Only time I've ever fully covered my face watching a movie. I think it's really important and it's stuck with me like almost no other, but ooooooooff.
Never mind movies you’ve watched multiple times, name a movie you’ve watched once and would never watch again.

I'm watching Heated Rivalry and I'm on episode 2 and I'm so attached to these boys. I don't want anything bad to happen to them ever (I should probably stop watching then right 🫣).

If they hadn’t burned all the witches and midwives back in the day, we’d probably know more about perimenopause and menopause right now. We know fuck all about a condition that half the population goes through because men are a bunch of plonkers*

As always, Blair Braverman can make me love about anything. This time? A dead rat named Meatball.

Thanks, Blair - we all need the reminders to find beauty, connection, and love everywhere. ❤️
For this month’s @outsidemag.bsky.social column, I took a rat taxidermy class, and it was… surprisingly sweet? As the teacher said, “We’re reclaiming what’s beautiful and interesting about the things we’ve been told are bad or gross.”

I love my rat. His name is Meatball.

I love some ridiculous magical realism, but Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist is annoying me, and if she fucks this 19yo I'm going to be done.

Little baby Tom has died (which was expected) but his bigger twin brother Sawong is still alive! I really need this to end in a healthy boy flying home with his family. They have been through so much and 2025 owes us this.

Frozen faces, fused limbs, no mouths, staring at nothing. Sometimes a headless person-blob is just sitting on the floor.

I'm sitting in a park listening to live music, and watching my kid play with his birth Dad (and Mum, sister, and grandma). It's the sweetest thing in the whole wide world and makes me teary.

They love each other so fiercely. He feels so safe with them & isn't looking for me at all. It's everything.

I think they made the right choice. Think about it. Usually as soon as the colour comes out you'll see a gazillion products using it.

But that won't happen this time. Because we're all broke and trying to stay alive while the world fucking burns around us.

The colour of an empty void makes sense.⚪
is there anything more 2025-coded than “white” being the pantone color of the year
