Jill Stein's social media usage spiking every 4 years is predictable but that absolutely massive spike at the start of 2016 needs to be put in the context of her attending that RT dinner in December 2015 and Russia's interference in the 2016 Election
Their perennial presidential candidate has social media usage that spikes on a 4 year cycle

Ah.

“Mellon, the 77-year-old … who poured $30 million into 3 GOP super PACs in 5 months, wrote that black people were ‘even more belligerent’ after the expansion of social programs in the 1960s and 1970s and that Americans who rely on government assistance were ‘slaves of a new Master, Uncle Sam.’”

It really is incredible how much money Trump’s offspring have made off his presidency.

But I’m sure James Comer and House Oversight is looking into all of it exhaustively.

Black women were like “things are going to be devastatingly bad if this happens”.

The responses:

“Stop your hyperbolic nonsense! Congress will never allow.. I mean the Supreme Court must act…SURELY the Constitution will stand…..”

AND

“It doesn’t matter because they’re both the same”.

“Big Tent” advocates to Black people: Be nice to racists who make a habit of doubting Black humanity.
They can all get 5 value meals from a fast food restaurant. It makes me crazy the lack of basic follow up from reporters.

i think i would honestly find this whole discourse more tolerable if people simply said what they were actually saying, which is that they think the Democratic Party is too associated with femininity (and secondarily, with black people) and that they want to correct this
Can we also point out that this is basically giving every service member $100? I need reporters to dig deeper and not get distracted by smoke and mirrors.

But, to the point, the reaction many are having to Platner and the idea of an economic populism to "save the Democratic Party," as this conversation seems to believe, is that white men are what really matters. Everyone and everything else can be sacrificed. There is no coalition, just whiteness.

He's cozying up to M*GA and then he's going to attack a prominent Black woman next.

It's in the playbook.
I think that it is a throwback to a different time to say that people like him are unwell. He’s perfectly healthy, he’s simply cruel. And yes, very dangerous.

A 14-word replacement for most op-eds, substacks, etc about this moment.

The GOP could stop ALL of this, right now—if a handful of Sens or Reps could step outside the cult.

It would take four in the Senate, four (maybe five) in the House, to change history.

Until then, they're all to blame.

It turns out that, all this time, Rob Schneider has been portraying characters who were *smarter* than he really is.
