Really important to stress that the Crown Jewels of the US higher education system were never the Ivies or elite SLACs (other countries have equivalents of these) but the well-funded, large, cheap, and excellently staffed public state university systems bringing high quality education to the masses.

Wait. What?
ANA SWANSON: Does the administration value Fed independence?

PETER NAVARRO: We value a Fed that understands the chess board and will do the right thing independent of political consideration

(That's not exactly a yes)

People of Illinois, we need your help.

Get your cell phones out – record what you see. Put it on social media. Peacefully ask for badge numbers and identification. Speak up for your neighbors.

We need to let the world know this is happening – and that we won’t stand for it.

Trump: There's a rumor and I don't know if it's so or not—that Cuba, they don't have tylenol because they don't have the money for tylenol, and they have virtually no autism

I just can’t even. So 👏🏼 many 👏🏼 women 👏🏼 are 👏🏼 going 👏🏼 to 👏🏼 needlessly 👏🏼 suffer 👏🏼

He can fuck all the way off.

And next time he gargles orders for a Diet Coke, someone please tell him it’s too much liquid.
Trump: "It's too much liquid. Too many different things are going into that baby at too big a number. The size of this thing when you look at it. It's like 80 different vaccines and beyond vaccines."

This is not a massive decision or any kind of change. Costco has never carried mifepristone in its pharmacies. An anti-abortion group is taking credit for something that didn't happen, possibly to generate disingenuous left-wing ire against one of the few corporations that hasn't gone MAGA.

I’d rather risk skydiving without a parachute than risk following any political party Musk cooks up.
Musk is pitching the America party as both a centrist party (because the two parties are too polarized) and an alternative to a uniparty (because the two parties are too similar).

Something I am thinking about right now is that a 3 million dollar program that allows abused women to take their pets with them to domestic violence shelters is about to be cut because “we don’t have the money” but the government is about to spend 1000000000x more than that to bomb people

If you give conservatives an inch, they will run over your body, drag it a mile, burn it, spit on it, then leave it to the media vultures to pick clean.
The conservative movement is lying about basically every empirical "debate" of our time, from climate change to voter fraud to vaccines. Why is it so impossible for reactionary centrists to contemplate the possibility they're lying about trans healthcare too?
No, New York Times. That's not what trans people are saying.

I quite quit my dad years ago. From experience, I learned that pointing out the ways he hurt me only resulted in him hurting me more. Why make a big exit?

If he had an ounce of self awareness, he would ask how he may have contributed.

I’d guess the signs are there, but no one is looking.
I also know people who have done this and it's been a years-long, excruciating process. The idea that millions of people are cutting off their own parents for slight transgressions or after a single therapy appointment requires *very* good evidence for me to believe it.

People don’t just do this for fun. I cut my mom off last year after 40 years of chaos. I offered to help her, but she rejected any terms that didn’t allow her to continue her gambling and spending compulsion. Despite all that, it was and is still extremely painful.

Unironically they should buy up the domains for about 60 defunct local newspapers in swing states. Hire two reporters to write almost exclusively about highschool sports and new restaurants opening with every 10th article about how the local GOP is screwing over people.

Well. Yes. 👀
So just to recap, the Transportation Secretary is scared shitless of public transport. The Education Secretary is being sued for enabling child sex abuse. The Health Secretary is bringing back measles. And the Defense Secretary is texting classified war plans to the editor in chief of the Atlantic
That would be Secretary of Education Linda McMahon who's being sued for aiding and abetting systemic child molestation, just to be clear
