this is like how 8-9 years ago women started reporting harassment and now we can't say "rape" ever anywhere
it’s insane that a decade ago we all agreed that giving mass shooters the attention they desired was a bad thing but now because rightwingers will quite literally lie about the shooter every single time we all have to be acutely aware of the shooters intentions and ideology

these $$$ could have funded biomedical research, including some of the 1000+ NIH grant proposals that were found to be highly meritorious in peer review

the payoff for that investment would be immediate ($2.63 per USD) and sustained (education, training, discoveries, careers)
So far it looks like Trump, Noem, and operation metro surge drained Minneapolis alone—not yet counting St. Paul, Bloomington, etc.— $203 million. This was a MAGA Trump assault on an American blue city. Nothing more. Start seeing it.

"Is Representative Luna an American?"
"Of course."
"How do you know?"
"She's a member of Congress."
"So?"
"So, to be in Congress, she has to be a citizen."
"And to vote for Congress you have to be a citizen."
"That's why we need the SAVE Act."
"Why?"

I say, so what if the Record says Rep Byron Donalds (R-FL) voted in the House when he was actually in California to do Bill Maher's show. After all, the Record once said Rep William Henry Bates (R-MA) voted in the House when he was actually dead.🪦

Republicans in Congress have been warned repeatedly that RFK Jr. is destroying the U.S. vaccine program.

The problem is that they love it. It’s part of their “medical freedom” platform.

To my surprise, CDC is still tracking how many children RFK condemns to measles. Cases are getting younger and, of course, it is spreading faster.

About the House clerk maybe going rogue at the start of the 120th Congress – ie, Dems win the majority of races, but the clerk leaves enough Dem winners off the members-elect list that, at least initially, Repubs hold the majority – for that to work, Repubs would not just have to let it happen…

But, as always, the (new) House can do anything it wants:
‘The Clerk presiding during organization declined to put a question, whereupon a Member-elect put the question from the floor.’

I keep saying this, but some of y'all keep dooming and saying that somehow Trump can somehow stop the new session of Congress or Johnson can take steps to stop it. Nope. That's not how it works. (always pay attention to @kristin-wilson.bsky.social). Trump is not a god-emperor.
Remember that the current House essentially dissolves (they adjourn sine die) on January 3, 2026 right before noon. When they gavel back in, the House Clerk is in charge until the House elects a Speaker.
Point being, those in charge right now will not be running the show on Jan 3.
