Over 1,000 unionized Starbucks workers walked out yesterday on Red Cup Day! ☕ 65 stores are striking indefinitely because Starbucks and its law firm allegedly continue to refuse good-faith bargaining and deploy aggressive union-busting. The strike grows until workers get a fair contract.

There are so many reporters who bust their asses in relative anonymity, for modest wages, and try—imperfectly, as all of us are—to uphold high ethical standards in their work. This kind of pseudo-celebrity treatment is grotesque, and particularly insulting, I think, to other female journalists.

She was in a full blown romantic relationship with RFK Jr, advised him (including on how to deal with the bear carcass in central park story), told him she'd do 'whatever he needed' and thought it was ok to keep writing about him. That's bad.
The writing is worse

Drunk border patrol agent was in a womens restroom with a loaded gun + one in the chamber
then wandering the parking lot of a restaurant with his gun out then resisted police and threw the fucking thing *loaded*
The police tried to deny giving any of this info but this indie newsroom prevailed!
A Border Patrol agent accused of drunkenly fighting with Long Beach police overdosed weeks after his arrest, according to his lawyer. New body-camera footage shows what he told the cops who'd wrestled him into custody: lbpost.com/news/isaiah-hodgson-drunk-border-patrol-arrest-long-beach-overdose/

incredible to see NYT reporter Landon Thomas over a decade into his time there advising Jeffrey Epstein on how to "fight back" on reporting about his crimes. Tells him to go on TV and "Present evidence that she is lying AND show the world that you are no longer that guy."

Literally just picking files at random. This is an argument over 25k between Al Seckel who Epstein apparently hired to scrub reporting and wikipedia of his crimes and reputation. Seckel ended up dead at the bottom of cliff a few years later.
