If I have any credibility with you from 20 years of reporting on rightwing & fascist movements, please listen when I beg you not to celebrate Charlie Kirk getting shot. Leave aside morality: this isn’t a match in dry grass, it’s a torch. We do not want what this could ignite & we would not win.

This is absolutely what will happen. Teachers already fear the perception of their choices in the classroom. In a time of sky high cost of living and attacks on education in general, self preservation will unfortunately win for many, especially if there is no support for risk taking within schools
Sotomayor, in dissent, correctly says that today's decision in Mahmoud will lead public schools to simply censor books featuring LGBTQ characters and themes, creating "chaos" and stigmatizing children with LGBTQ families. This decision will lead to book bans.

While bombing Iran is bad for Trump’s poll numbers, starting a war and creating chaos is good for Trump as an authoritarian. Authoritarians exploit chaos to claim emergency powers, deploy the military domestically, and undermine free and fair elections.

These attacks must be viewed from this lens.

As a teacher of seniors in high school the anxieties about going to college are so different now. Instead of being nervous of moving to a new place, they worry about being ostracized for wanting to learn at all. Thank you to the student that wrote this incredible piece.
She just got into Harvard (as well as West Point, Brown, Stanford, and other incredible universities)

When she told her MAGA grandparents, they had six devastating words for her

Today on @HuffPost Personal, a powerful new piece from a high school senior who has a message for the adults of America
I Just Got Into Harvard. My MAGA Grandparents’ 6-Word Reaction To My Acceptance Devastated Me.

I wrote about why Republicans - and Trump specifically - often beat Democrats on messaging because they understand the politics of schemas and how to use them more effectively, while Democrats search for the best facts, but often lose the battle of perception: www.forkingpaths.co/p/schemas-an...

Correct. Trump wants propaganda, not history.
