Consider the implications of providing the power to say no and still live to every worker, thanks to a sufficiently high universal basic income. YOU would choose to do whatever work you choose at the pay you agree to, and everyone around you in your place of work would also be choosing to be there.
With universal basic income, work environments would be full of people actually wanting to be there

My theory is that some of the most dangerous people in America are smart, introverted techies who never understood why anyone majored in the liberal arts in college, graduated college and began reading and misunderstanding texts liberal arts majors were taught to read properly, and became fascists.
