I am actually hopeful that the supposedly mainstream media has been captured by money and power right at the exact moment most people no longer need them. They chose the wrong side and will soon be gone. But it's incumbent on us now to make considered, careful choices about what takes their place.

I think there's also complete unwillingness to recognize that news media organizations are *entirely* telling us with whom they--sure, primarily the owners & management, but it trickles down to the star employees--identify, and on whose behalf they get angry if that type is at all insulted.

I think he may be over-identifying with institutions here. If shame didn't work, them whistles people are blowing in Chi wouldn't be effective. Shame was never tied to institutions; it's an emotion that tells the body "we have gone too far." It just can't be the only tool in our belts.
