We've had Presidents who had poisonous metal in their mouths 24 hrs a day and Presidents who boozed all day every day their entire life and Presidents who thought a big skull meant you were smart and also George W. Bush yet somehow in 2025 we ended up with the dog shit stupidest one who ever lived.

Ha, why'd homey delete that post?

I just want to be very clear here. This is the Vice President of the United States saying it’s a regular practice among white people to enthusiastically endorse slavery, Hitler, and rape.

He sent this to me personally, FYI, within seconds of my criticism of his piece, which does not make a deeper point beyond celebrating an idea about new "accountability" for ICE agents as opposed to *consequences*, which is how we got here in the first place.

I usually like his shit but come on.

Dear Bluesky: Please stop playing the pathetic, phony little game of pretending that the *only* thing discussed in this piece is masks. Take the bad faith bullshit factional posturing elsewhere. Thanks.

This is good: Rep Eric Swalwell tells me House Dems are now discussing making an end to mask-wearing a precondition for ICE funding.

"When we are in the majority, the masks are coming off," he says.

This is the next frontier in anti-Trump resistance.

I do think he knows, and it shows when he does shit like this. Mike Pence would never stoop to answering for this type of thing, not in a million years, and he was both craven and dumb as hell.
jpgorman.bsky.social
Oh my God dude this sucks so bad, what are you talking about?

This is the "More female prison guards" meme as an actual policy idea.

What is wrong with these people?

Trump ICE Raids Take Horrific Turn in Chicago, Handing Dems an Opening
There’s one simple pledge Democrats can make to voters about ICE that’s easy to understand and will have broad support.

Not for nothing, but every time three 18 year olds at Harvard start a petition, the entire Right Wing commentariate goes absolutely feral.

It is pretty fucking weird to look back what feels like not that long ago and realize it was a completely different world, and I was a completely different person in it.

Realized this morning I'm no longer on speaking terms with ~75% of the people I invited to my wedding in June 2013, lol.

It sucks, but it's the answer to the OFFICE SPACE thing:

How come I have to leave when they're the ones who suck?

Because they suck *together*, and I'd rather not suck at all.

I have been a stay-at-home dad/husband for eight years now, and here's the deal:

A man has a problem with his partner making more than him, and he makes it a Them problem, and he does not go to therapy or get any help dealing with it himself, he 1) is missing out, and 2) ain't shit.

End of story.

They're going to lose because they are losers who don't know how to win. They try to present as this hyper-masculine ultra-strong behemoth but they're a bunch of scared little weasels scurrying around doing whatever a demented old shithead tells them to do after watching TV, and everyone knows it.

The GOP doing free promo for 'No Kings' is really funny to me, really feels like tactically their best tactic was to just pretend they had never spared it a thought

tbh there's a real difference between a young republican and a Young Republican. if the former doesn't recoil from interaction with the latter, though, it's immaterial.

Trump is upfront in saying he will use the shutdown to punish Democrats, and here are the receipts. About $27.2 billion cut from Dem districts compared to about $0.7 billion in GOP districts.
We all complain about the media, but need this type of in-depth journalism.

everyone needs to internalize that this is just how all republicans are and when nancy pelosi said "the country needs a strong republican party" she meant that more people like this should be powerful. they are all like this! they all think just like this and like trump and they love it and it's fun

Trump and Bessent clarify that they will only help out Argentina as long as Milei is in power. Trump adds that the same thing goes with NYC, where the White House will hold up funds if Mamdani wins.

ME: "Yeah, why?"

WIFE: "You and your music, I swear to God."

BOTH OF US, two minutes later: "GHOST WITH A BONER!"

And if you don't think this can happen for one reason or another, go grab your local newspaper and give it a read. We remodeled our bathroom a couple years ago and the previous people who'd done so left a newspaper behind the wall from 2004
I almost started crying reading it. Things change. Fast.

I am actually hopeful that the supposedly mainstream media has been captured by money and power right at the exact moment most people no longer need them. They chose the wrong side and will soon be gone. But it's incumbent on us now to make considered, careful choices about what takes their place.

I think there's also complete unwillingness to recognize that news media organizations are *entirely* telling us with whom they--sure, primarily the owners & management, but it trickles down to the star employees--identify, and on whose behalf they get angry if that type is at all insulted.

I think he may be over-identifying with institutions here. If shame didn't work, them whistles people are blowing in Chi wouldn't be effective. Shame was never tied to institutions; it's an emotion that tells the body "we have gone too far." It just can't be the only tool in our belts.
