I am waiting to see whether the departures include any provinces not already boycotting the meetings. If not, this is just an attempt to rebrand an existing reality. If so, it might be worth some reconsideration, depending on the size of the movement.

You are just right about this. The Chicago Consultation (2007- ~2018) worked closely with African leaders who support LGBTQ Christians. Its gatherings in Durban (2011) Limuru, (2013), and Elmina (2015), drew together dozens of African Anglicans who have actively disputed this false narrative.

I think what they're asking for is for America to be restored and Trump to subjected to the law. And I think the plan to get it is to demonstrate that there are so, so many of us.
