the deepest irony here is that the U.S. government offered bounties for killing indigenous people beginning in the 1600s at least through the civil war.

and... bounty hunting for alleged criminals was declared legitimate through a supreme court ruling (Taylor v. Taintor) in 1872.

i know the terrorgram cults are targeting the young ones these days, and things like cyberbullying / harassment has become so immersive, as technology has scaled.

but damn — all this is to say, i agree. so many generations of girls have been failed 💔
jenbyers.com
absolutely.

i'm younger than vance's cohort, but still in the same generational cohort. and the harassment for me started around age 9.

if i had realized the online bullies were going to be the whole political establishment, i may have gone full bunnicula on them sooner.

g-d, sorry i'm just an embittered cassandra figure these days.

all i say anymore is some variation on:
"i warned you & you didn't listen, and now it's worse,"
or
"oh jesus, we're in hell."

i promise i'll add some new dialogue to my repertoire soon. i'm beginning to bore myself 😵‍💫

i will never forgive y'all for writing off violent online misogyny when young girls reported it.

perhaps years & years of lauding "great men" with the preface of "oh, just ignore the racism / sexism / bigotry" was... ✨ a mistake ✨

when i was at a (public, elite, midwestern) math & science boarding high school, my classmates would DM me stuff like this, along with unsolicited d*ck pics.

and i was labeled the outlier for developing ptsd symptoms.

misogyny is a gateway to all of this, and so many of us tried to warn you.

c.w. torture

Torture device manufacturers in the U.S. stay innovating.

ICE has chosen the "Wrap" a full-body restraint device, to use for removals of people to 3rd countries. (Not being taken to home countries, other countries.)

@apnews.com: one man says ICE kept him in the Wrap for 16 hours.
[So disturbing. I'll do my best to describe.]

Video still:

This appears to be a video created by the company to demonstate the product, not a real prisoner. The whole lower body of a man is placed in almost a blanket that is strapped around him. There are multiple straps the size of large seatbelts with big buckles. There are straps that go over his shoulders. He is also back-cuffed. This video is a still from the moment when a helmet the size of a motorcycle helmet is being placed on his head and strapped on under his chin. he is also wearing a pale blue lightweight surgical mask.
