It started off quite foggy here this morning, one of "those" autumn mornings 😊
Look at the spiders' webs on our neighbour's hedge, aren't they amazing? 🕷️
Or maybe they're fairy hammocks, made of gossamer and silk? 😂
#MHHSBD
A small-leaved hedge, possibly a lonicera, you know, one of those ones that never flower?
There is a green grass field beyond the hedge and one end of our neighbour's washing line.
The hedge has many Spiders' webs. There's probably one every 10 to 20 cm.

Some good news.

London is meeting legal limits for toxic NO2 pollution for the first time – almost 200 years earlier than predicted – following the Mayor’s "world leading air pollution policies," City Hall announces.

The Ultra Low Emissions Zone - and similar policies - really do work.

Someone sent this photo of a painting they bought from me. It's lovely to see your work hanging in someone's home.
In other news, there might not be a blog tomorrow as Ko-fi won't allow me to save my work 🙄. It's half written, and I'm more than a little hacked off.

Lovely walk in the Galloway Forest Park at Kirroughtree this afternoon.
This was Big Bruntis Loch💚
Nowhere near as gloomy as it looks - if you look carefully, you can see a tiny bit of blue sky reflected in the water.
Saw and heard some Jays 😊

A photo of a loch which is very still and showing reflections of the surrounding trees. It's autumn and the trees are just starting to develop yellow and rust colours.
The sky is grey but just starting to clear and there is a tiny bit of blue sky showing in the reflection.
There is a large rocky area in the foreground. The rocks are quite craggy and a pale grey colour.

Perhaps you also need a weevil in size 13 trainers this evening. 👟👟👟

Big fan of this weevil's color scheme, pointy snoot, and huge feet!

A Juniper Shieldbug (Cyphostethus tristriatus) in the garden....
We spotted this Juniper Shieldbug (Cyphostethus tristriatus wandering up a wooden planter in the garden. The insect is a large green shieldbug with curved and distinctive pinkish-red markings on the corium and long antennae. It is walking across a brown, wooden planter in our garden.

Did u know? Newly emerged Queen bumblebees are busy feeding themselves with as much food as possible, to get them through the winter, as they sleep in holes/hollows/earth/grass. That's why every last summer flower in your garden is an important food source. Look at this magnificent lady. 🌱🌿🇬🇧🌱🌍🪲🐝

Helgi and his rather splendid tail are here for Saturday. He recommends lounging on a nice, soft blanket and letting someone else deal with life, the universe, and paying the grocery bill... Take care and we hope you have a good day.

The boggy coastline beyond Garlieston, in The Machars of Galloway. A lonely stretch of coastline that feels like it could collect washed-up bodies and spectral hounds. #blackandwhitephotography #Scotland #Galloway
Atmospheric black and white photo with tufts of grass in the foreground, leading out to a watery bog. There are trees and a sliver of light on the horizon under dark clouds.

It's lovely to watch everyone who turns up to the feast, isn't it - ichneumon wasps, hoverfly larvae, ladybirds (both larvae & adults) lacewings, birds... the list goes on & on...☺️
jemimasgarden.bsky.social
It is 😊
We saw our first Lacewing here this year and one possible larvae👏
jemimasgarden.bsky.social
😂
We miss the antics of both these species but apart from that, it's pretty good here 😊
Loving the new profile picture thingy 😊
How's the vanlife?

Did u know? We all love a cuppa.Better still, if you've grown it yourself. I'm drying out some(leave some on the plant for small souls) of my Fennel seeds that'll make me warming tea. Spread your seeds on paper to dry until they go brown; add a teaspoon to hot water. Infuse for 3 mins & enjoy. 🌱🌿🇬🇧🌱🫖
