you know this guy is a FOR REAL photographer because he's telling the story of his brutal, unconditional arrest by federal goons and can't help but slip in a gear review
Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

New post from me. Here is my personal touchstone for evaluating proposed legislation regarding young people and smartphones, social media, age verification, and potential bans. It's called the Darnella test. Who's Darnella? You already know.

This meme accidentally reveals the silliness of gender critical arguments about “two sexes”!

“Humans, as a species, are bipedal” — Sure, that’s true

“Every human has two legs and should be treated as such, but also we must not tolerate prosthetic legs in our society ” — Sorry, are you high?
every time i see this it takes me awhile to remember that it's being cruel, not advocating

Exciting news guys. Our Procedure Browsable Space (TM) now comes with a legislation lookup URL. Simply plug in the legislation.gov.uk URI of an Act and you'll get taken post haste to a list of instruments currently before Parliament enabled by that Act

It actually pisses me off. Not only has google gotten so bad that it can’t find the thing I was looking for, it’s programmed to have the temerity to insult me as well.
It will never not be funny to me the way that Google's AI search returns a result you don't want and didn't ask for in an incredibly surly tone. 'No, this [thing you did not ask for] never happened. Are you dumb?'

If you don’t pay attention to UK politics, “what is their policy on civil servants wearing fetish clothing in the workplace” sounds absurd because noone wears gimp masks to their office job.

If you do, you immediately know she wants a policy prohibiting trans women from wearing skirts or dresses.
Hello, Baroness. Are you keeping busy?

The reporting on this stuff is always very vague - what’s on the screens (there is a brief mention of this)? What would the child be doing instead? What other environmental factors might improve/impede vocabulary? Why is there a conflation with a social media ban for teenagers in this article?
