When economists frame anything (like tech) in terms of economics, it ALWAYS comes down to the flow of capital. AI generates huge flows of capital, so it must be "transformational" - is some greed-based economy bullshit in every sense. Transformational? Fuck off.

I’m genuinely furious at how much Christmas stuff I’m seeing everywhere already.

Corporations are trying to squeeze Halloween out of the calendar so they can cut to the chase and spend all of Q4 trying to convince people already struggling in this economy to spend more. It’s everywhere.
