your tactic of protesting in an inflatable frog suit which gets normal people on your side is far inferior to my tactic of posting about laser blinding helicopter pilots which is both wildly illegal and, were it to succeed, would put basically *everyone* against me

It's hard to help Americans left behind because so much of US identity is rooted in individualism. The average American conservative holds all three positions at once:

— Virtue signals about supporting US manufacturing
— Against raising the minimum wage
— Buys foreign imports because they're cheap
HardPass4 on Twitter tweets: "I'm willing to pay more for quality products if they are made in America, by Americans, who are paid a decent income." The tweet shows Norman Rockwell's "Freedom of Speech" painting, which is often used to show the tweeter is expressing a brave opinion. HardPass4 on Twitter tweets: "MINIMUM WAGE JOBS WERE NOT MEANT TO BE A CAREER. Why does no one understand this? Entry level jobs are STEPPING STONES to better jobs. No one wants to work towards that though." HardPass4 on Twitter tweets: "Buy $5 gloves instead of $50 ones. Trust me." The tweet shows a box of "Gorilla Grip" gloves. The label on Gorilla Grip gloves show they're made in China.

This two-parter below is exactly why it's hard to make clothes in the United States.

Let's look at how much it costs to produce a button-up shirt in the US. 🧵
Someone on Twitter replies to me: "meh. buy american or stfu."

Two hours later, in a separate thread, the write: "$30 for a single button-up is ridiculous unless it is decent quality silk."

They are but it's not the same as libs and stone because leftists objecting to tankies are decidedly the exception. Most are all to happy to support genocidal imperialism if it's got a red flag
illya.bsky.social
Like the current interm leader of the federal dippers flat out shared russian imperialist propaganda years ago and still ended up interm leader!
illya.bsky.social
The flat out unwillingness of most leftist her to offer even mild criticism of imperialist, genocidal, fudelist autocratic nonsense is terifiying.

They might not have money behind them but Canadian leftist fucking love them. Every single communist I've meet has been more than happy to explain to me why I should be genocided and all the non tankies leftist were more than happy to nod along and not say shit.

This fucking timeline need needs to stop getting more and more borked by the day.

That said his veiws are awful enough on thier own that they can't really be tarred by association. It's just more to support his awfulness.

I really have no interest in anything bilshevyk for obvious reasons but this really isn't suprising
illya.bsky.social
From what I gather talking to friends in the US and my experiences in Canada: Canadian leftsism is way fucking worse when it comes to imperialist, racist and pro-genocide bullshit.
illya.bsky.social
The current ndp interm leader is awful on this and generally their not great about disavowing racist bullshit
illya.bsky.social
Yup! Not to mention his fucking wild views about Ukraine

if we'd treated their obvious baldfaced lies and deflections more like this over the past eight years maybe we wouldn't be in this situation

shocking how easy it is when you actually see it done

STEPHANOPOULOS: I didn't insinuate anything. I asked you whether Tom Homan accepted $50k as was heard on an audio tape recorded by the FBI in September 2024. You did not answer the question. Thank you for your time.

VANCE: No, George, I sai--

STEPHANOPOULOS: We'll be right back

I'm just one person, and my programming needs are somewhat unusual (building various kinds of statistical forecasting models). But I'm just not seeing the consistent productivity gains from LLMs that I would have expected if you'd asked me 6 months ago.

Glad to see Nigel Farage has finally remembered Nathan Gill, former leader of Reform in Wales - found guilty of taking bribes from Russia.

Maybe he'll now remember how much he took from Putin's propaganda broadcaster Russia Today for all his TV appearances when he was a MEP?
