I'm Ian, an Irish freelancer translator based in Germany who overuses Spongebob gifs.

I've been on BlueSky for a while but always as a backup plan in case I gave up on Twitter. Which I have done now.

I also co-host a Blackadder podcast called Lord Of Adders Black: @lordofaddersblack.bsky.social

Oh yes, I remember that. Great guy, Kris. And she did have a point.

I also remember her brother, the excellent writer Joseph O'Connor, offering to send the pope a roll of sticky tape ...
Poor Sinéad! What did she do to deserve that?

Scientists have suggested if French ball-point pens are prohibited the universe could reboot itself. This is known as the Bic ban theory. #LunchPun

My Ginny, now in doggie heaven, used to wag her tail in her sleep whenever anyone said her name 💚😭
This was actually my introduction to Maiden, so the album versions of the songs on NOTB and POM in particular sounded rather tame by comparison!

Thanks for reminding me that I need to give this another spin or ten ...
Another fittingly excellent episode on what is arguably the best live album of all time!
On today's episode I am going to take a look at the album “Live After Death” by Iron Maiden, the band’s debut live studio album released on October 14, 1985.

If you haven't heard this podcast and need a shot of music-induced euphoria, this episode is a great place to start. (The first episode would be better, but hey ...)
This week's stand out, standalone episode of The Sound Of is all about The Sound Of Independence!

I design all these album covers myself btw. I feel like I put more effort into them than the podcast itself.

Catching Up on Podcasts #4

Love this series from Ciaran. All of his guest are fantastic to listen to. Great stories, great songs. It’s a terrific concept for a podcast.

FYI my Sound of Independence is “Rock My Nights Away” by The Michael Schenker Group.

She does calm down a little. The first episode in particular is quite manic and the whole thing settles down soon afterwards.
Yes, I think it was me - if not directly then certainly on our podcast @lordofaddersblack.bsky.social.

Without a doubt my favourite series ever. And you will never see a more beautifully executed finale.

Glad you're loving it too, Ciarán!

Yes, I wasn't serious - it is definitely safer and more fuel-efficient to have season-specific tyres.

But nonetheless it was a pleasant surprise to learn that, through my forgetfulness, I saved myself a few hours and a few euros today.

I've already set a reminder for April!
Top tip for saving time and money:

Forget to change your winter tyres to summer ones so that, when it comes to changing them back to winter tyres, you find that you've saved yourself a two-way journey and the installation costs. Hurrah!

Tune in next week for more life hacks!
Viele Leute dachten damals - oder denken vielleicht immer noch - dass Debbie Harry "Blondie" ist und nicht, dass die Band so heißt.

They should do a Colombian remake of Scooby Doo where the gang brings Pablo Escobar to justice and he says "And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you Medellín kids"
Always a pleasure to chew the fat with our old friend @metalkevin.bsky.social!
In our brand-new episode, New South Wales podcaster and British comedy enthusiast @metalkevin.bsky.social makes a welcome return to our podcast to talk about what he loves about Blackadder The Third and why, for him, it is the quintessential series of Blackadder.
