Happy birthday to the video for “Home in America”. Now officially a toddler.

Hats off to the brilliance of Masta Ace. Sadly, this song is very relevant.

Also features Donny McCaslin, Orrin Evans, Dezron Douglas and Eric McPherson.

Give it a watch and share. #hiphopsky

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, we remember the bright and courageous trans people whose lives were stolen by hatred. Their absence is felt across our city.

We will honor them by building a New York where every trans person can live safely, fully and freely.

This year’s memorials take on particular poignance as the Trump administration has restricted how trans people can live publicly and privately while also eliminating federal data collection about anti-trans hate crimes and ending funding for an LGBTQ suicide hotline.

Um, this is a great reason to stop using Spotify, but there are SO MANY other reasons to just never return to Spotify and use Tidal or Apple Music or BandCamp.
Thank you to NYC Comptroller @bradlander.bsky.social for his leadership in demanding answers from Spotify.

This is absolutely right.

The eight who signed off on this disaster of a deal were acting as a shield for colleagues who are up this cycle. Don't let any of them off the hook just yet.
The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

Schumer can be removed from his Dem leadership role this week - 23 Dems (and/or independents) just have to vote to depose him

And they should, given this is his fault.
This is a lovely sentiment but Schumer isn't up for re-election until 2028 and he knows this. At which point he will be 77/78. There's no mechanism to recall a sitting senator AFAIK.
Let’s be clear: Chuck Schumer is the one ending this shutdown, no matter how the votes read.

Chuck Schumer is claiming that he’s voting no, while letting other Senators (Fetterman, Kaine, King, etc) do HIS dirty work.

He must be removed from his leadership & primaried for the sake of this country

This was obvious 30 years ago.
One of the less-discussed points Al Gore made in his crusade against fossil fuels was that there was a ton of money to be made in developing alternative sources of energy. But, of course, we were too dumb to listen.
The US is the world's largest oil and gas producer. Yet, "China is now making more money from exporting green technology than America makes from exporting fossil fuels."

Been voting on the WPF line for as long as I can remember. But I just for the first time gave some $$. $20 recurring donation.
More people voted on the Working Families Party ballot line than the Republican ballot line. We received more votes this election than any mayoral election in the Party’s history.

But this phenomenon isn’t just happening in New York City. It's happening everywhere.
