Being even baseline literate in the 2020s is like never working out but slowly becoming the strongest person on earth as everyone around you eats shredded newspaper and chugs poison

I would like to articulate one of the BIGGEST misconceptions about cat breed genetics by talking about the NEBELUNG!

An extremely rare breed with only SIX(6) in the whole US, and no breeders, yet one that thousands of folk online are convinced they own.

Your cat is NOT any breed, and that's okay.

So one of the things that I think is lost on AI proponents is what I call the card catalog effect, a thing I shouldn’t call it because a lot of people probably have no experience with a card catalog.

Once when we wanted to show the ineffectual dithering of The Good Place Committee, we had one of them say, "There are rules, procedures. This is The Good Place -- we can't just *do stuff.*" We almost didn't include it, because we thought it was a little on the nose.
WELKER: Massie and Khanna say they are looking at options including impeachment and contempt for DOJ officials. Would you support those steps?

KAINE: I think that's premature

Every time I make beans I still marvel that something so delicious can come from just a few simple ingredients. These are @ranchogordo.bsky.social yellow eye beans. 🍽️🍜

this poor guy! i'm so glad they were finally able to rescue him.
Brooks the cat might have used up a few of his nine lives during the five rainy, chilly days and nights he was stuck on top of a transmission pole in Northeast Hazel Dell. But the only thing that matters to his owners is that he finally came down, a bit worse for the wear but very much alive.

Got sent home because there was no power (someone hit a transformer so they didn’t expect it to home back before the end of the workday. As soon as I got home, the power came back on. 😂

To all the young people in New York and across our country who count on gender-affirming care:

I won't let this administration come for you, your doctors, or your lifesaving health care.

Your health care is still legal and protected.

I'll always fight for you.

Another great fall/winter salad: kale, roasted butternut squash, bacon, maple glazed pecans, blue cheese crumbles, and green onions, with a maple-red wine vinaigrette. The squash & bacon are roasted together on a sheet pan, and the pecans are thrown on at the end to get toasted too. 🍽️🍜

America, you have spoken loud and clear: You do not like AI. But what if AI is the way to restart the world’s idea machine?
We’re running out of good ideas. AI might be how we find new ones.
What if the best use of AI is restarting the world’s idea machine?

One way that the reaction to Rob Reiner's murder mirrors Charlie Kirk's is that the best way to eulogize each of them is to quote their words, and in both cases, doing so pisses off conservatives.
Rob Reiner: “Silence in the face of authoritarianism is complicity. Speaking out is a patriotic act. Democracy doesn’t defend itself. It requires participation, vigilance, and courage from ordinary people."
