The library board meeting, city/county council, animal control - just show up!
I really can't emphasize enough that if you care about local politics, all you gotta do is show up. Just a regular schmegular person showing up. Literally just show up consistently in person and within a remarkably short amount of time, you will have a shocking amount of influence.

Just the two of us, so I just did the core: turkey breast roast, mashed potatoes, and fluffy dinner rolls. Did splurge on dessert and made cranberry tiramisu. 🍽️🍜

Christmas Eve for me, but... yeah. I still can't really use one, even though i have the gloves now. just get a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach thinking about it. watching people on cooking shows makes me shudder.

whew. tried to fire up the humidifier this week and it was making a terrible loud screeching, and it's not even a year old. luckily, a descaling of the pump seems to have done the trick. thank god, because i have been soooooo drryyyyyyyyy.
