People accuse me of lying bc I'm a historian but say I've worked in construction and disaster restoration for 15 years, also a licensed adjuster. So question... do yall think the hurricanes just skip over the historic buildings? Or is there a wizard army putting up a forcefield around the buildings?
🧵 Factual information that contradicts or doesn't fit a specific narrative doesn't mean someone is shilling for the other side. I'm seeing the same thing happening in regards to immigration as I saw happening with Covid specifically with the folks left of center and it's not great.

Then the DNC pulled support from candidates, worsening the problem, and now the rest of the country tells us we deserve to die in hurricanes.

Florida calls itself the Free State while building one of the most tightly controlled political systems in the country. Power was centralized, opponents were sidelined, and institutions were reshaped to keep one faction in permanent control. #Voices4Victory #DV1 #ProudBlue #USDemocracy

My mom used to make a sweet potato dish from a cookbook but altered the recipe. My family members gave the photocopied recipe from the book but they don’t have her changes. So now they’re like “what are we doing wrong” and I’ve realized I now possess a secret recipe. Let the negotiations begin 😂

I am calling for a total and complete shutdown of New Yorkers posting cornbread recipes until we can figure out what the hell is going on. @apnews.com there are plenty of Southern cooks and chefs who know how to make cornbread. Stop asking northerners for southern recipes.

This is the time of year when you can determine if someone is a piece of shit based on nothing but their food posts. My family wouldn’t let me post this picture much less eat a gray turkey.
Hey, we saw you from across the bar and really dig your vibe.

I’m dog sitting for a friend and her neighbor is currently walking around the yard making cat noises. Not meowing, making pissed off cat sounds. I’d probably feel more afraid if this dog wasn’t bigger than me.

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

One problem I've personally noticed in the corporate world is a lot of executives have distain for their own product/service, their employees, and even their customers. How can you effectively run a company when you hate everything about it? They'd never tolerate that from hourly employees.

A story in 3 acts:
November 24, 2025 at 11:00 PM
I'm generally annoyed that I can't spend my life in the archives like I'd planned. But I am immensely grateful that I have a good mind for business and am more than capable of running my own business with relative ease. My days are rarely boring and I've got stories for days.
November 24, 2025 at 11:18 PM
In addition to my professional training being a dumpster fire, it is also extremely boring. "Let's spend the next 8 hours talking about basements." Sir, this is Florida. Look around.

It's time to flip Bama blue!
So I’ve made it official folks: I’ve filed the paperwork to run for Governor of Alabama. It’s time to remind this state of who we are and what we can accomplish together.

I've had to go to professional training and naturally I am reminded by the men that I'm in fact a woman as made evident by the harassment they decided to put in writing. So now I'm trying to deal with the organization and say that actually they're the ones who need to be removed or I'll sue them.

I'm going to be as clear as possible. I have never and will never wonder what life would be like with Bernie Sanders as president because that useless old bigot wouldn't do a damn thing to improve our lives. He and his entire cult following can fuck off now and until the end of time.

To see this and know that this is the world’s first likely trillionaire who is exploiting the poor, capturing regulators and destroying the environment, for THIS… makes you almost wish for the old mustache-twirling, top-hat-wearing oligarchs in their gilded smoky rooms. Made more sense
Everything about this might be the saddest thing I’ve ever seen

It’s been so long since the first season of Stranger Things that I’m doing a total series rewatch and it’s like watching it for the first time. I don’t remember any of it.

Major sources of hate speech are located outside the US. Well yeah, we have this conversation every few months. And every few months people reject the bright shiny evidence that easiest way to ruin America is to feed the hate and bigotry that already exists here.

A trans teen in Iowa completed suicide after severe bullying by classmates and teachers.

"Miles’ death came a day after a substitute teacher refused to use his preferred pronouns."

It's the type of bullying @thefireorg.bsky.social and @aricohn.com support.

I'm saying this months in advance... the Democratic primary for Florida congressional district 7 will be won by a serious candidate who is qualified, competent, and not allergic to raising money. I'm watching this race closely bc it's in my back yard and we could end up living in district 7.

One thing I've noticed since starting my own business... I'm a woman in a heavily male dominated field. For the first time in I don't know how long, I don't have to even think about that much less have feelings around it because I'm not around a certain type of man all day.
