this goes for foods even if they are vegetable derived and not animal derived. if you are a healthy adult who can miss work, sure you can risk it. don't risk older folks or kids.
Friendly reminder that Thanksgiving leftovers are probably well past a safe harbor date, even if properly and promptly refrigerated.

Might be time to trash the mashed potatoes.

right now, i and several of my friends be locking in on soup, congee, oatmeal and all warm, delicious liquid foods. the last pic i got today was of a pot filled with water, chicken carcass and aromatics.
The most precious commodity you have is your attention. You don’t have to waste it on poor-faith debates or arguments with strangers if you don’t think they’ll be productive. You can prioritize the things that matter to you and make your life richer.

Naturally I think you should listen to all Volts pods, but I particularly recommend this one. I tried to wrap up a lot of current developments into a coherent narrative & a direction forward.

I decided to stop drinking alcohol about a year in and it actually helped make things feel less bad. Having extra energy and doing things that weren't getting drunk made therapy, work, life, everything better.

as someone who has cooked from scratch and near scratch, campbell's is cheaper and sometimes its exactly what you can afford. realistically, i'm buying whatever the store brand is usually unless there's a recall in place for something.
The Campbell soup scandal highlights the fact we need to relearn how to make things from scratch again. Honestly, I don't think they're using fake meat, just low quality. But, if you want to avoid supporting these companies, gotta learn how to cook or trade services with someone who does.

i agree. ONLY older, disabled individuals and people with children deserve good parking close to their destination.
This comment was posted on a letter to the editor about bike lanes.

"no one with a disability, injury, age related changes, or small children is going to not use a car. Those groups all need clear streets and access to good parking close to their destination. "

I hate the reason why, but I love that this has spread from Rogers Park. Hope whistle-blowing cyclists start following their vehicles too. Let these motherfuckers never know peace.
“Short bursts indicate an ICE sighting. Long whistles indicate agents making arrests. If you hear the whistle and you’re undocumented, said [Whitney Hu, a community activist and organizer with South Brooklyn Mutual Aid], ‘you hide. And if you’re somebody who’s not, you go to the street.’”
