For both the NHS and the BBC- we pay for it. We are entitled to it. We are entirely within our rights to point out when it is not fit for purpose without having to worry about it being taken away if we aren't nice enough about it.

My feelings about the BBC are largely in line with my feelings about the NHS.

I think it is vital we have a publicly owned and funded broadcaster and its enemies are my enemies, but I *detest* the way it's talked about as some gift to the peasantry we're supposed to be fawningly grateful for.
Revealing division in my timeline between (1) my insider friends who have lived privileged lives who are very keen that we defend the BBC and think it's important it survives and (2) my outsider friends who feel (at best) ambivalent about the BBC's survival.

Second Il Fantasma del Giallo playtest was tonight, this time with partner running it (me elsewhere in the house listening to techno) and three players. One brand new rpg player, two players with low-middling experience of only d&d. No one at the table had seen a Giallo film.

My partner is running a playtest of my game and I'm listening to techno real loud on my headphones so I don't hear them and feel mortified.

God this sounds miserable for everyone. I don't want to be perceived, just let me buy my fucking jaffa cakes.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.
Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

Its nice to be at the "fun to write prose" bit for a while rather than the "agonise over card probabilities" bit.

You know you've fucked up trying to make your headline less horrible when you go from a "Way of Kings" manosphere headline to a Der Stürmer headline.

Alright, think I'm going to launch the Kickstarter for Gravity on... Tuesday. I'm bored of waiting.

Will I remember to hype it up on social media, multiple times a day, every day, to build interest and maximise income? Probably not!

I wonder whether part of the resistance towards making OpenAI take responsibility for this is the need to maintain the collective fiction of choice and individualism.

If a product kills you and nobody knew it would, you can't choose your way out of that. But you "chose" to hurt yourself, sorry bud.
Panera’s moderately caffeinated lemonade was loosely associated with 2 deaths before it was taken off market.

This article alone has 4 examples of ChatGPT encouraging young people to commit suicide, and OpenAI’s own public stats estimate over a million users discuss suicide with ChatGPT each week.
I fully believe in the corporate death penalty and believe we would be a better world if OpenAI lost its corporate charter and was forcibly dissolved.

I would like D&D to stop being described as "entry level". Not even because I'd rather people play other things but because it creates false expectations.

Is it any wonder that folks are unsure about other RPGs after playing D&D, given that they're told that other games will be harder to learn?
