If elected leaders in Spokane are serious about public safety, they should be putting more money into our library system, not considering cutting library hours to fix a deficit created by a bloated police budget.

Mayor Brown says none of the layoffs will come from "public safety" departments. In other words cops get to keep their jobs and their 25% raises and social services will be cut. The police are defunding spokane

Feeling some kinda way about my last post here. In Spokane our court system is at least kinda honest about how racist it is, and I guess I'm grateful for that?

Spokane county is 1.3% Native per the 2020 census (per wikipedia, census website is down currently). Today, 5.98% of the people held in detention in Spokane are Native. Below is a screenshot from the county detention dashboard from 10/13

Telling the federal court that IL police can handle Broadview was part of the state's legal strategy against national guard being deployed here.

But it's hard to square that as for the good of protestors or Illinoisans as a whole, when IL police are perfectly willing to drag and beat them anyway.
