From the smoke-choked June 11 protest against Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Spokane to the packed parks and sidewalks at multiple No Kings protests, 2025 has been filled with people exercising their right to protest the US government. Local Flock cameras were used to surveil these protests.

From the smoke-choked June 11 protest against Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Spokane to the packed parks and sidewalks at multiple No Kings protests, 2025 has been filled with people exercising their right to protest the US government. Local Flock cameras were used to surveil these protests.
I'm still getting used to it, but Qobuz is pretty good and is allegedly one of the more ethical streaming platforms. It's really easy to port your playlists over too!

ICE deported a woman who owned a home in the US for 30 years. A judge banned ICE from deporting her to Sierra Leone where she had been tortured, so it deported her to Ghana, which kidnapped her and sent her back Sierra Leone anyway. ICE is part of this illegal conspiracy.

- try your new transport mode on a low stakes and fun trip (ie brunch on a Saturday)
- start leveling up from there (ie using the bus for appts)

Dana Harbaugh, a downtown business and property owner, is against the tax. Downtown is the heart of Spokane, he said, and when it falters, the consequences "ripple outwards." He thinks the tax will discourage tenants and consumers from choosing downtown. (There is an exemption for resident parking)

its been a murky few weeks on the transparency front for city council and I'm not liking it.
If your boss was holding a public meeting about whether you should be laid off, would you want to know? Last week, Spokane City Council staffers weren’t given the option after they were kicked out of an unrecorded public meeting where their employment was discussed. Read the story now:
