All DOGE accomplished was purging critical government staff, handing private data to outsiders, and sentencing thousands in developing countries to death by gutting USAID.

I don’t say this lightly: if there were any justice in this world, the people responsible for this devastation would be in jail
DOGE 'doesn't exist' with eight months left on its charter
U.S. President Donald Trump's Department of Government Efficiency has disbanded with eight months left to its mandate.

The UK is losing up to £250m a day in lost tax revenue due to the economic impact of Brexit, House of Commons Library analysis for the Lib Dems suggests.

Brexit has blown a "black hole of [up to] £90 billion a year in the public finances" the party says. Even under lower estimates the hit is ~£65bn

How the Americans are poisoning not just their own democracy, but ours here in Europe, too.
I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

Really great and educational thread. Wish we could make everyone understand the nuances. Also I’m here for some economic rage.
James Carville, in his NYT Op-ed, says it's time for Democrats to "embrace a sweeping, aggressive, unvarnished, unapologetic, and altogether unmistakable platform of pure economic rage. The most populist platform since the Great Depression."

I can dig it.

Direct action is not designed as spectacle for media consumption, unlike large peaceful protests which are, deliberately, a spectacle.

The editorial desks at major media outlets are incapable of grasping the difference. Direct action scares institutions because it threatens the order they sit atop.

X rolled out a new feature that accidentally exposed a massive covert foreign influence operation — more than one, actually — that is currently live on the platform. It’s a huge story and I wrote about it — and what it means for America — here:

Elon Musk donated $277 million to Trump so he could steal the federal government’s data, dismantle the nation’s infrastructure, and stop foreign aid from going to nonwhite people. It’s a quid pro quo breathtaking in scope, corruption, and damage, & completely unprecedented in American history.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

Homeland Security is calling U.S. cities “sanctuary sewers.” The Trump regime wants Americans to hate other Americans. It’s deeply unpatriotic and must be stopped.
