Miss Major was a lifelong organizer and participant in the ballroom scene. She took part in the 1969 Stonewall Riots and was injured by the police — but she kept fighting.

For sure. I've read Marx and taught him at the college level but ultimately I disagree with many things he says or feel like they come from a very limited perspective and are incredibly dated. I prefer an approach that centers bodily autonomy and innovative thinking. Marx feels too reactionary

I barely wore shoes as a kid and when I did they were flip flops...my big toe has a permanent dent from it lol but now I'm shoes all the time cause my feet done went soft on me

I know folks have made a lot of caveats and additions to Marxist theory but ultimately the central focus on production will always be an ableist exercise. As a far leftist, I think Marx has some good points but I overall do not align with Marxism because I know we can do better.

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?
