I have yet to achieve the perfect mixture of humility and bombast required to write a truly epic one-line bio. In the meantime, I'm a freelance #podcast producer/editor at https://particulatemedia.com, a D&D game writer/runner, and courts/law nerd.
They both look like the scare photos of late stage untreated syphilis they showed is in high school health class.
Well, there's a photo I never expected to see in my life. Noam Chomsky palling around with Steve Bannon.

This is my friend's cat. Its name is Cookie Swirl, and it disappeared in the American section of Charlotte airport on 11/10. We're asking for your help. She doesn't have any other socials, so if you can post it widely to see if anyone knows where it is. It's a little thing, but matters a lot to her.

Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

I honestly think that many people don't know what their public libraries offer besides books. I think that everyone should go on a public library treasure hunt in 2026. Go explore what your library systems offer at no cost to you. Report back to me :)
“I miss blockbuster video” the library has every dvd totally untouched and I never see you there

My hottest take is that letting cops park in red zones for mundane errands and coffee breaks; I think “you can break the law at your discretion as a job perk” is the small domino that ends in the large domino of “shooting protesters in the face with rubber bullets”
It must be wild to get to abuse the public then pay for it with the public's money

Looking for suggestions on new podcasts for some long travel days coming up! I like:

- Long form with a well-crafted narrative
- Investigative journalism
- True crime can be fun, but only if it feels ethical and humane rather than exploitative

Whatcha got, Bsky denizens?

Nobody invests harder in whiteness as an identity than the white people who sneer at non-white achievement as identity politics.
Hiring a Black woman: “identity politics”

Hiring a white guy for a job that has been held disproportionately by white guys, because he is a white guy: “subverting” identity politics!

(The author of this sentence is Dylan Byers; you will not be surprised to learn that he is a white guy.)

Well … also you usually can’t comparison shop because you don’t know what you’re shopping for! If you go to the doctor because your back hurts, there are approximately one zillion things that could be. Are you supposed to price “look at back” and then separately price the actual treatment?

According to a new study, members of Congressional leadership perform 47% better in stock market trades than their rank-and-file peers, thanks to access to nonpublic information.

Today would be a great day to ban ALL elected officials from trading stock, don't you think?

I'm putting together something for Assigned on the best and worst in trans journalism this year, and I'd love help finding the ones I've forgotten (or things that I missed).

Who did great work on a trans story this year? Share your favorite piece from your favorite journalist (non-Assigned).

it's the end of the month and I know so many folks are with their families, but I had to rent a car to drive home for the holidays and that...obviously took a chunk out of my end of the month funds. if you have anything to give, I could really use the help!

Not only are trannies worth fighting for, we’re worth fighting for AS trannies, as what we are right here and now. Not only if we’re part of some other group that matters.

We matter no matter what people think we are, no matter what standards of gender we do or do not meet.
at some point you have to stand up and say "I think trannies are worth fighting for and deserve dignity" and that's the one thing no one wants to actually commit to

Many fields, science, religion, psychology, computer science, meth, law, put philosophy into PRACTICE. It's a tool, used for developing the scientific method, for putting frameworks around religion, for constructing logical arguments.

But they most often leave it at that.

Somebody better stand up a missile defense system in Burbank ASAP.
The right's now hegemonic argument that cocaine is actually a chemical weapon and that mere suspicion of having it on your boat justifies an order to kill everyone aboard is astoundingly insane

They literally can't run their grift without libs to own. They don't get anywhere near the necessary engagement when the only response they get is big ups from their marks.
This.

There is no snowflake more melty than a rightwing edge lord who is compelled to shout into the void.
The real question is not "Why is Bluesky so left-coded," the real question is "Why can't the right exist in a social media environment without algorithmic assistance, where people can ignore them"
