One of the things that drives me to go to stadiums when, for example, it's 5pm on a Wednesday and it would be much easier to stay home than gut out traffic is a simple thought: we, in the US, have to start seeing our soccer as worthy of respect

fair point actually, obviously however you see it isn’t an issue, but I never hear ppl talk abt the UWCL as a burden or an unnecessary risk bc it’s a competition people want to win, and media value ppl winning. Such energy does not exist in North American continental ball.
