the invasion of Afghanistan is among the most horrific recent chapters of the long history of elite impunity in the US. this coda is grim but fitting - the govt practically explicitly affirming that it should only be Afghans who live with the consequences amid fading public memory of the atrocity

ICE attacked another disabled protester today, spraying chemical munitions right in the face of someone walking with a cane.

They claim they were conducting a targeted enforcement and she was “in the way”.

They’re bullies & their enforcement is becoming a mass disabling event.

“The article was made up guys and all the statistics and information that showed Amazon was responsible isn’t that bad and they didn’t actually cause the problem initially and” pick a lane to defend from
I *do* condemn Amazon for all the bad things they do.

What I'm not doing is condemning Amazon for bad things they didn't do. There are enough bad things they actually do for you and I to pick from; we don't need to make up new ones!

Why give them any grace at all ever when it’s a voluntary choice to make all the decisions they make from the slightly bad to the really bad? It’s all net negative.
Those are all infinitely better reasons to condemn Amazon than datacenter water consumption.
Do you work for Amazon - what is the deal here? Amazon also contributes majorly to greenhouse gas emissions and industrial pollution with their major shipping industry - they also abuse their employees. Why defend them at all?

That *is* exactly the problem; my point is that this specific issue of nitrate contamination is one of the rare instances where Amazon is far from the primary or significant contributor to that problem.

I am ready to go beyond implication and say after reading the facts here that one of the most recognizable people working in the White House almost certainly had ICE arrest her nephew's mother as a favor to her brother
This article heavily implies that ICE is being used in a custody dispute to help Karoline Leavitt's brother get his son and have the mother locked up in ICE detention
"A woman with a family connection to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has been arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Revere, Massachusetts."
