Supervising professor: “she didn’t do the assignment”

Student: “I didn’t do the assignment”

University: “isn’t there someone you forgot to ask”

some days I just want to scream and scream
Worth noting that the student admits that she just threw the thing together in 30 minutes without reading the paper she was supposed to be responding to.

Even if you were unaware with how central Hans Von Spakovsky has been to right wing conspiracies about nonexistent “voter fraud,” you would still be right to think it’s a bad sign that someone named Hans Von Spakovsky thinks Heritage has gone too far to the right
This is a pretty shocking mass exodus. Heritage's legal department is basically a ghost ship at this point. And I have to imagine they'll really have to dredge the absolute bottom of the barrel to restaff it at this point. reason.com/volokh/2025/...

I blame the media for believing Trump when he said Project 2025 wasn’t his plan/agenda.
Everyone sat around talking about how these people were incredibly stupid and then they managed to successfully implement large swathes of the plan that they all told us they were going to execute and you really have to wonder who is the stupid in this equation

I just reduced background noise, chopped the 14 minutes into 3 minute segments each compressed under 100 mb for bsky's limits, cropped and rotated a few degrees for easier viewing on here

It used to be that the United States would use Voice of America and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty to transmit truth across the borders of repressive regimes.

Now the work of American reporters, having been censored, is being smuggled across the border to reach Americans.

Let's make a deal. The CDC can end recommendations. States, on the other hand, should make the counter-rule: if your unvaccinated child comes to school, infects other students, and one of those children dies, the parents will be charged with negligent homicide.
RFK Jr. is going to end CDC recommendations for most childhood vaccines.

It will take a few years before the deaths and disabilities ramp up to a level that even the most vile Republican cannot tolerate.

RFK Jr. will be long gone and unaccountable, as our babies die from preventable illness.

I feel like that makes it worse, bc it underscores that it's not just (using just loosely) RFK Jr randomly being a conspiracy addled eugenicist wackjob -- this catastrophe was coordinated and had the backing of the conservative legal movement
It is utterly catastrophic that RFK Jr. plans to end CDC recommendations for most childhood vaccines.

It’s a betrayal of science, ethics, compassion, and the people of the United States.

And it was also a specific goal of Project 2025 (page 254).

Under RFK Jr., U.S. plans to stop recommending most vaccines, defer to doctors
