Its here! A new blog post! A deep dive into Mothership's "combat" (Violent Encounters) and why excactly it trips some people up. If you aren't interested in mothership i still reccomend this - its about how we write rules and display information. This took me a long time and im proud of it :)
The Combat Conundrum: how violence actually works in mothership.
Mothership is a a game about rising stress, and that's not just limited to within the mechanics: I could fill the constant rubbing out and rewriting of the s...

Very succesful writing time at the pub today ~ a lot of different specs of stories, and wrote an entire short story based on my job ~ a little bit poe-like, a little bit folk tale.
Books are meant to be shared - if you own a book, lend it out freely. If you own a collection of books, allow people to peruse freely.
It never hurts to get people to read and nourish the reading habits of those who do.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

"Transsexuality is bourgeois" reflects the common belief that medicine, technology, and any improvements to quality of life are owed to capitalism. The reality is that capitalism holds these improvements hostage for the sake of wealth.
Im helping my gf with her little game and we decided to rename it from a roleplaying game to a "bric-a-brac foraging game" theres still a lot of roleplaying elements esp in creation of a small god but it suits it better.
It can only be a good thing that both the predominant money in writing and ttrpgs push fantasy as an (increasingly homogenised) aesthetic only and completely separated from its history, narratives, and precursors texts, right?? Right??

The "cozycore" identity WotC's been pushing for D&D lately may be toothless and completely disconnected from the game's rules, but it's a reflection of how a lot of D&D "lifestylers" interact with the brand. This isn't a new creative direction, it's a business decision.
"Vibe" is a perfectly fine word in the mouths of people, but in advertising and press releases its just absolutely rancid. "New shooter has all the vibes" "new stranger things dnd brings the retro vibes" all the words and absolutely 0 communication of anything.
You know, for a game that hyperfocuses on "sexy design" to the detriment of its characters, hades 2 then censors any ounce of nudity or sexuality, including in the literal bath scenes. Let alone having any sex scenes.

The google ai pop up (which im only reminded of when i use my gf's phone, i use firefox and duckduckgo) doesn't seem to make much business sense for google either - isnt their entire product selling promised clicks on people's sites? Like the entire point of SEO

Now, I may not be overpaid think tank talking head or a pollster with techbro friends who post Nazi memes in the group chat, but it appears to me that being openly and vocally supportive of trans rights is somehow part of a successful electoral strategy in a nation gripped by transphobic media.
Elf brain go brr, bit also the softness yet mischief of them, its a very relatable form of femininity you rarely see illustrated
i don't understand over/under - i know my confusion is worsened by how cluttered and alien i find discord but i have no idea what i am meant to be doing or what i am interacting with

Faerie forest is better than Fae Forest, Faerie queen better than Fae Queen, they are Faerie is better than they are Fae.
My growing pet peeve is novels using "fae" like it feels purposefully trying to avoid the whimsy of faerie.
